yes, I leave my door unloacked but I live out in the middle of no where. My closest neighbour is my brother, The whole community of 62 knows each otehr. We all went to school together and grew up together, and in a small town if a car goes by that nobody knows everyone knows all about it by the time the day is done lol

In this day and age you have to be so security conscience, no where is safe anymore, it's a sad way to live but it's a simple fact of our violent unsafe society. I do remember as a child that my granny would always leave her door wide open for neighbours and friends just to drop in, but you certainly can't do that nowadays.

No,my doors are always locked unless it is the middle of the day and then my screen is locked. My husband and I will sometimes sit in the living room of an evening with out the door locked but if we leave the room I lock the screen if we leave the door open.
You can't leave doors open like you would have several years ago as you don't know who is going to just decide to come in and take your stuff. It is crazy, but it is the facts of how life is today.
