Flatfeet are fine

You don't have to be embarrassed by your flat feet anymore. According to researchers, children with have less chances of getting injured because of their feet. A US Army research found out that flatfooted recruits actually have a lower injury risk than their high-arched compratiots. When researchers analyzed the footprints of more than 1,600 kids between age 3 and 17, they found the most flatfeet among 3- to 4 year olds and the least in kids between 12 and 17. "Often what appear to be flatfeet in children are actually fat feet," explains James Amis,MD., an orthopedic surgeon who reviewed the study for the journal Foot and Ankle.
