Have we as individuals lost our voice?

Today in the day and age of technology and media, the world seems to have shrunk. Instant news, instant food and god know what else. While I'am not against development or technology i have been feeling lately that we as individual have somehow lost our voice. What we say is either the voice of media, religion, so call leaders or the mass but i wonder what happens to what you actually think. Do we today dare to stand by what we think, no matter what others think, no matter what the mass thinks but what YOU think or feel OR do we just echo what everyone else says or thinks. Why do we refrain from speaking out aloud?Would like to know the opinion of other out here.

Most people don't want to think. They want to enjoy. And that's what most of the media convince people to do. "Just do it" means "Don't stop to think". "Your best choice" means "Don't stop to think". People are not thinking, they are enjoying the moment.
With the internet, we got the ability to meet people with the same interests... and of course, the same level of engagement on a cause. We can gather any kind of people right now. Take an example... I've created a petition for a pretty unknown band (Symphony X) here in Brazil. Some months later.... they're going to be here! Isn't that incredible? I mean... we still have that power, but we have to be fast and learn how to use the new media. Cause the big ones already do.

What you say is true... thinking has become a task for people today where as it should be the biggest instrument for creating your own niche, being you. Its an irony, why we seek information when we dont process (think about) it. Hey your Symphony X eg is pretty cool congratulation on that. Yes at time all it needs is one voice, one person.

Thanks for the comment and the congrats! ^^
As you've said... sometimes you need one person to step aside and take the responsability for starting something. And there should always be.
I always try to encourage my friends to start something, to be themselves instead of going along the "people". Once you think a bit, you see that that same "people" dont think. =P
