I used to wear an eyeglass and my grade is 175R/150L. My husband suggests that i should wear a contact lens but i think its a little expensive than eyeglass. Besides i've seen eye doctor wearing eyeglasses too and if contact lens are more convenient so why they too are wearing eyeglasses? what do u think? what are your reasons of opting to contacts instead of eyeglasses?

Doctors wear glasses for a number of reasons. Eye doctors do because they want to let you know that they will wear them. Often the people working in optometrists offices don't even need glasses and wear blank lenses just to show the newest styles. Doctors and surgeons wear glasses because sometimes contacts will dry out if you don't blink enough and when they are doing surgery, they tend to concentrate on what they are doing and forget to blink. They also protect thed octor's eyes from anything like blood or vomit getting into them.

i feel comfortable wearing my eyeglasses. almost every year i need to change my eyeglasses because they easily get worn out due to daily use. i am just using the ordinary type of eyeglasses because i can't afford getting the classy and expensive one how much more for contact lens. i have astigmatism on my left eye and a far-sighted person so i'm wearing an eyeglass similar that of a correction eyeglass.
it scares me a little bit about wearing contact lens because i learned that if you insert them in your eyes by mistake this leads to irritation and eye get infected. i feel uneasy putting and removing them before and after sleep.

My husband and most of his family are near-sighted. What horrible thing did they do to get that way? I was cross-eyed, also inherited and was lucky enough to get it fixed. But I suppose my husband's ancestors should have left Northern Germany and the Netherlands one at a time, instead of as a group. My grandmother had cataracts and glacoma, yet she always wore a hat that shaded her eyes. So none of us did anything to damage our eyes. So quit with your insults and innuendos.

Hi, it is always easier to use lenses but i think it all depends on your own persoanl choice too, if you feel comfortable with glasses then let them remain though i would suggest that changes are good adn theres no harm giving them a try if specially your husbands also keen and yes they are costly too but then its sometimes only that you invest in things like this no harm giving it a try. am sure that you will like them and you always have the option of retrieving to your glasses if they dont suit or yo dont like them.

Contact lens! If only they don't have the tendency to be irritating to the eyes.

i think one should wear eyeglasses when the person goes out of the house and should prefer eyeglasses at home.
