We use to see this in the movie, have you wondered about it, magneto-optical drive is a kind of optical disc drive capable of writing and rewriting data upon a magneto-optical disc. Compared to the original floppy disk, the 90 mm MO Disc has twice the thickness. There were 130 mm and 90 mm MO disc available. The cases provide dust resistance. The disc consists of a ferromagnetic material sealed beneath a plastic coating. it takes twice or triple as long to write data as it does to read it. this is because Magneto-optical drives check information after writing it to the disc, this is the one that makes the media extremely reliable. Using a magneto-optical disc is a lot more like using a diskette drive than using a CD-RW. The capacity of the MO disc range from 230 mb to 2.6 GB. The Nintendo 64DD used magneto-optical discs.

i think i still prefer using flash drives as storage media. although this one is a good alternative to cdr. it's cool! A far better predecessor of the once nifty floppy drives!
