Do You Like Looking at Yourself in the Pictures?

I've heard that one reason many people don't like looking at pictures of themselves is because they think they look "weird" in them! The reason you think you look different in pictures is because it's opposite of the way you're used to seeing yourself. When you look in a mirror, you're seeing your reflection. Usually that's the image you have of yourself. But really it's opposite of how you really look. It's hard to explain in words but you probably know what I mean...in a mirror you right side appears on your left and your left appears on the right. A picture is your exact image though, it's not switched around like a reflection so you really do "look" different than what you're used to seeing. Faces really aren't perfectly symmetrical so sometimes a picture can look drastically different from a reflection.
I don't like many pictures of me either. It bugs me because everyone insists on a big smile in them and usually stands there trying to get one from me before they'll take the picture. Big smiles make my eyes all squinty and my chin stick out though so I prefer nice natural smiles. By the time the picture gets taken I end up looking annoyed along with the big unnatural smile.

Right I understand what you meant! Oh I hate those big smile thing too and some people even mentioned that my facial expressions are like "come on, dang, take the picture NOW!" on the pictures.

Oh yes, I know that look! Right now would be a perfect time to show the picture of my 2 sisters and I all sitting side by side holding our babies. BUT I didn't put it on my computer because I hated it that much. My baby was the youngest and it was past his nap time so he was all squirmy and wanted his bottle (but of course no one wanted a bottle in the picture), the sun was in my eyes, everyone was doing the big smile thing and my mom (who was taking the picture) kept fussing with the camera and trying to get all 3 babies to look at her at the same time...and it was outside and a bug kept flying in front of me. My sisters looked perfectly fine with their happy older babies comfortably sitting on the shaded side....I'll have to see if I can get it sent to my computer so I can share it with you.
I just don't get why people can't just take the picture already!

ugh! i hate seeing myself in pictures and definatly hate haveing my picture taken!
in fact whenever i see a camera i usually leave the room lol!
whenever i do see a pic of me, my first thought is always "oh my god, do i really look that bad?!"

Oh yes I have the same feeling whenever I look at my pictures, I can't help but wonder if I do look that yuck in real life. But hey, I don't look THAT bad in a mirror. That's why I prefer to take pictures of other people instead haha.

Yeah, I'm the same way. I absolutely can't stand looking at pictures of myself! It's very rare for me to see a picture of myself that I actually like. I always think I look really awful in pictures, so then I get uncomfortable whenever someone wants to take a picture of me cause I just know it's going to look goofy! lol I always feel like I look either really fake, or just really weird.
