Your computer might be infected with virus, spyware, adware, and malware etc. Try to remove all those using antivirus, anti-spyware and adware softwares which are available on the net for free, just search for it. Delete all your unused files and waste files using ccleaner software. You could also defragment your computer using the option available in accessories.

Heck I change my pc every 5 yrs. I suppose you should reformat it. That will increse its speed. Do formatting every half a yr/ a yr at least. Most probably your pc is slow because you've installed newer softwares and hardware while the processor is still the same - I'm guessing 2.8 GHz or less.

Aaaa...dont remind me. My computer is slower then yours, i suppose.I work with WIN2000 just because the computer is really old. But it still tries to work and i have no money for a new one:-(((
No ideas what to do. Check for viruses, clean the c: from ALL the programs what are not in daily use for you or even reinstall.

since your comp. is 5 years old maybe you should get a new one.computer tech.is advancing about every 3 months so your cpu could be out of date by now, which is why you are having problems.

Check for virus and spywares. In doubt, backup your computer and reformat it. Sometimes you will see a performance increase. Also, try to find memory for your computer. More memory boost your speed because the computer doesn't swap (write partially the memory to the HD because of the lack of the former).
