Till a few months ago, i did use skype more then the phone. I have alote of friends that live in different countries, and as you know skype is a very cheap in connecting with them on the phone.
I n my country, calls abroad cost alote of money.
But now, mot of them returned to israel, and i see them aloe. I also work and study and the best way to reach me is through the phone, because most of the day i can not react through the computer.
I do think that skpe is a great thing, if you have an access to the computer every day.

Maybe in the future it will be the way to go. Imagine if you are trying to avoid your parents, they have a computer and you do to. They'd be sending skype messages - why don't you come for dinner? We never see you, what have you been doing? Are you looking after yourself?

I have used skype in the past and loved the voice clarity. For international calls ,I find the clarity even better than the phone as there is no echo or time-lag.I have been thinking about using it again, but just didn't get started.

I installed it! lol Like so may things lately, that I postpone because of MyLot, but then I must add, I'm still waiting for my daughter, and she is so busy lately, I think it will take awhile. When we were on holiday at my sister in-law, we all used it to contact my husband's relatives in the Netherlands, and we chatted for hours, and that for nothing. Quite an amazing tool!

Hi randy88, it's a free download - www.skype.com Follow their instructions. Then get your friends to do the same. You need a skype name. You can type chat or use headphones. Anywhere in the world costs you nothing. A bit slow with dialup then so is everything. You can add webcam also. You can also do conference calls so get a few friends on at the same time and go for it.
Have fun.

At first i was using Yahoo as my primary "talking abroad device"...but the sound was horrible and it wasn't very reliable.Skype here isn't very accepted and popular...don't know why...maybe many people are used to Yahoo Messenger...and are a little lazy to change.
And of course ...thank God that it's a "no cost" service , they should to that more often with other programs also.

My boyfriend is obsessed with Skype. He's talked almost all of his friends and family into installing it on their computers so he can call them for free when he's out of town.
My computer is rebuilt and I don't have a microphone, plus I have a great long distance plan and roommates that need to have long distance on a regular phone, so it's not practical for me, but it is a good idea.

Yes, I love using skype, I could connect with my friends so easily, talk with family from all over the world at no cost at all!! It is a greatly thought out program that is reguralrly updated and is massivly used by a lot of people! That is my opinion about skype :)
Cheers!
