Opera has tabs too, and it's waaaaaay faster than Firefox. You should try it some time. You might be surprised!

There are plenty of Mac viruses and worms out there, but the wild is so big that your chances of running into one are actually quite small. Mac also has a tougher shell than Windows (even Vista), but strong enough security software can make Windows that tough as well. My computer never has problems. Firefox is nowhere near as fast as Opera. It's also more vulnerable than Opera. Not that it's so much so that you shouldn't take it online, but if that's what prompted you to download Firefox in the first place, you might as well use Opera. I use mostly IE because it's the de facto standard. Just as an example, there is only one online scanner that works with Firefox, and there aren't any that work with Opera. My security software, rather than my browser, keeps me safe online.

Firefox has more extensions, but that's no substitute for more programs. Only a handful of ActiveX controls work with Firefox. For example, there is one online scanner and only one that works with Firefox. Everything works with IE. Internet Explorer is the standard, not Firefox.
