Could my baby have something in her ear??

My daughter had an ear infection a few weeks ago. We took her back to get her ears rechecked and the doctor said the left ear was okay but the right ear had some fluid in it still. Well she is still pulling on that left ear. She usually does it when she is eating. I know babies can just pull on their ears for no reason but I am kind of concerned. Do you think she could have something in her ear canal??

My son had a massive ear infection last week and was on antibiotics. They told me to bring him back this week to make sure that it was gone because it was so bad. My husband took him yesterday and they said that the infection is gone but the fluid is still there. They are going to recheck it at his 1 year appt. I don't know what they will do if it is still in there. I know that it takes a while but he keeps playing with his ears and being cranky. I wish I would know the answer for you. Hopefully after his appt. I can come back and update you on what they said if you don't already have an answer. But I'm hoping that it is gone and we don't have to deal with it anymore.

yeah same thing with her. They are gonna check her ears again at her 1 yr appointment which is next month. We may have to take her back sooner. It doesn't seem like she is in pain though when she is pulling on it and like I said I know babies can just pull on their ears for no reason. I am just kinda worried cause she is pulling on the ear that the doctor said was fine.

Sorry I never responded back. We have been really busy. His ears checked out fine. They say that sometimes it just takes longer for the fluid to go away. Sorry I wish I had more answers for you. Have you had the ears checked again? Do they still have the fluid in them?

It could be just the ear infection hasnt cleared up properly. I really doubt she has anything in her ear but you should bring her back to the doctor to get her checked again just to be on the safe side.

I suggest you get a second opinion if the first doctor found nothing. It would be best for any problems to be detected as early as now to avoid further complication. I hope everything'll turn out alright. God Bless.

No or the doctor would have seen it when checking. Ear infections in children can take a long time to go away. As long as there is still fluid in the ear she will tug at it.
