Would you like to see all around while driving? How do you manage on the road?

I admit that I am not sort of those skill drivers bold enough to see all around while driving ;) lol I try to keep myself sticky on the road and even if the accompanied person wants to talk, I try to respond without looking upon him/her :) Well, I know most of the people are very good drivers and while driving they surely enjoy all around. How about you? Do you feel comfortable while driving and looking all around? Is it good to chat without looking to the person? Kindly share!

There are so many crazy drivers on the road that I keep my eyes on the road and my mirrors pretty much all the time. I don't see a problem with talking to your passengers without looking at them. I do have a problem with drivers that 'sightsee' while driving. Those are the kind that swerve all over the road, and some even end up being the cause of an accident because they weren't paying attention to what they were supposed to.

Well when I am driving on busy roads then I always concentrate on the road and the rear viewing mirror as it just takes a second to hit someone. It is also necessary as we have mixed traffic on our roads.Neither do I chat when on these type of roads. But when I am driving on a highway which has lesser trafic then I do enjoy the sceneries around the road. I just love to drive on the roads which pass through the green farms and trees.

No I do not look all around while driving I miss a lot of the scenery because my eyes are on the road, and I have to look where I am going. Also when I am driving and have company then I cannot look at the other person not unless I am at the stop lights and they understand as our roads are extremely busy.

Is it mean that do not enjoy the driving or driving is not meant for enjoyment ;) ... yes a person nearby must realise how busy the road is or how conscious the driver. Thanks for response

I live in a state that is known for it's horrible traffic and freeways. I've grown up learning how to multi-task while on the freeways or when driving. I'm pretty comfortable but I still put my focus on the road before anything else. I am a little uncomfortable driving my sister around because she is always so nervous anyhow.. so she makes me nervous and I can not look at her while driving because she will freak me out with her facial expressions as if some huge truck is about to hit me when really it's nothing at all. I'm a safe driver. I drive the speed limits and I stay focused on all cars around me. I try to think ahead to any situation that could happen so that I'm prepared just in case. I do my best not to talk on my cell phone while driving unless I have my earpiece in and even then I try to avoid it if I can. I do not drive in a hurry at all. I like to take my time and get to my destination in one piece and alive. Plus my son is often with me and I want him to be safe and also to teach him good driving habits since he will be driving soon himself.

If I'm driving on the open road and the traffic is light I manage to see a lot of the scenery. But in town I have to pay really close attention and don't see much. It is really hard when I'm looking for an address that I've never been to before to watch the traffic and look for the address. I prefer to take someone with me who can look for the address while I drive. I can have a conversation without looking at the passenger but only if it isn't terribly important that I hear every word. If I have to concentrate on what is being said, then I'm not concentrating on my driving. [That's how I end up with speeding tickets in the past!] I am very disturbed by people who talk on their cell phones while driving in the city. They aren't paying close attention to the traffic and frequently create safety hazards. I love to drive outsite the city. I enjoy taking road trips and listening to recorded books, as long as I don't have to pay very close attention to the book! If it gets VERY interesting I've been known to miss my turn and end up somewhere I didn't intend to go!

Yes, one of the bad habit some people have is the use of cell while driving. Surely it is one of the element causing the drive much risky! Nice to learn that you love driving and drive safely. Thanks for response and happy posting here.

I was going down a road just yesturday and I was just in a thought zone I guess or I really was being stupid, but I almost hit a state police man.He even had his lights on and he was passing a car so he was on my side ,we missed each other by a good 800 feet I would guess.I didn't notice him til he let his sirene off making a bleep noise .I was so scared, I was just so thankful we didn't hit! I don't look off the road and never do the zoneing out thing but yesturday was my first and hopefully my last day of that! And when I have someone with me ,which I always do it seems, I don't look at them when we chat.I nodd or be verbal and speak like humm, or ok,and then? And so on.That way they know I hear them .

talking to some one is easy while driveing.what i find hard is i often have to drive when im tierd.driver fatigue is a big problem ive worked 3 days straight with no sleep and long drives in between.so ive set up my ute with a bed in the back and if im getting to tierd i pull over for a coffee and if thats not enough a sleep.

I tend to look around more now than when I was younger. If I am by myself I try to pay attention to my driving. When my wife is with me see looks out for me and I have told her to say something if it looks like I am going to run into someone or go off the road.

I try to look around but not in the case of turning my Head but by using all Mirrors so I know what is going on around me When someone talks to me while I am driving I will reply back without looking at them

I don't look all around when I am in heavy traffic. I guess I am pretty lucky as my peripheral view takes care of anything at the side which could be dangerous.

A good driver has his/her eyes on the road but at the same time all around also. You must be aware of incoming automobiles from all directions..., always checking your mirrors to assess the full situation before making moves.

If I am in town driving where traffic is heavier I keep my eyes on the road at all times. I believe in being safer then sorry. If we are just going for a drive on a country road I slow down so that I am able to take in the scenery. I don't usually look at the person I am chatting with in the car unless we are at a complete stop.

Well driving in town indeed needs very much attention. Hmmm a long drive on a motorway would make a difference too. Thanks for response.

You have too much things to do while you're driving. First, no matter if it is open road or if you are in some city, because the possibility to crash with your car is same. So, you will kill yourself, but also it is possible to ruin another person's life. So, you should be careful and not see all around while driving. Also you shouldn't see the other person sitting by you, or behind you. If somebody called you on mobile phone, you should stop and make the call.
