Yippee, I passed the test!

I just got back from the physical and back screening that I had to do prior to my being hired for the PCA job. Although I was unable to do a couple of the things, I did pass the other requirements with flying colors. They said that I could squat rather than kneel. My knees wouldn't allow me to kneel.
I had to get 2 shots. You know me and needles! I have to go back in a month to get the second in a series for the PPD.
Orientation starts on the 14th of this month. Following the orientation I will begin working. So, I will be on less and less.
I wanted to give my heartfelt thanks to all who have supported me through this ordeal. I can't tell you how much your words of encouragement have meant to me.
Huggers to all! : )

The therapist who administered the back screen told me that she was sorry that I had to leave my old job. She said that she thought I was one of the most knowledgable people that worked there. She said I should consider other options and keep in the same line of work. I told her that maybe, sometime in the future that could be a possibility. But, for now, I will work where I am happiest. I still will work with people. That is what brings me joy.

I didn't watch. I kept my eyes closed and talked to the nurse while she was administering them. We laughed when she asked if it hurt and I said "of course".

Thanks for keeping me in your list of friends Gabs. I will be around, but not as often. The hours are 8-4, with some weekends and an occasional 6:00 evening time. Hubby has promised to let me on the computer when I want to.

I am still planning to drop in at MyLot. My mother "said" she was leaving and then posted another article. She is just cutting back on the amount of time she spends there.

Well congratulations! It sounds like it is back to the old grind for you!
I hear you about being on here less and less, it seems like I am exhausted after getting home from work. You will probably also be working 2nd shift. I don't get weekends off at all, I feel so out of sync with the rest of the world, but at least now I can pay my bills.

Fortunately the work after 5:00 won't be too often. And as for the housework, we have a roomie that will take care of the housework during the daytime. That will leave me open for relaxation in the evening hours.

Hubby's job is going well. He said it is way to warm in the greenhouse he works in. It is often over 100 degrees. But, he still enjoys it!

What great news. I'm happy for you. I hope you love your new job. Soon you'll be so busy that you won't have much time to be on here, but you can keep us updated whenever you can. Can't wait to hear about it once you start. I spent 3 years going to nursing school, and my favorite clinical experience was at a nursing home. I just loved the patients.

I will be working with patients that should probably be in a nursing home, others that have been in therapy or in the hospital, or cannot do much on their own. I love working with people and helping them out.
