If you remember this site, I need to see if any of my stories are still on line. What was the name of the site?? I made a good deal of money from them and was sad when they closed shop. I have not saved a lot of my stuff and was hoping I may find it floating out in Internet space.

Hi! Are you talking about Themestream? It closed a few years ago. I joined Themestream only a few months before it closed;I only had a few dollars in my account so I wasn't upset about the lost money but I sure was upset about the loss of Themestream as it was my first writer's group. I dont' think you can find any of your material' I do believe it is gone. I did a search a couple of years ago and couldn't find a thing. I did save my material to a disk but I can't find that either. Oh well!

I only know of 2. Associated Content and Gather, and I think they are still live. I wasn't aware of anything similar getting shut down. Good luck finding your stuff!!

There's a real lesson for all of us writers here. I never save any of my articles, thinking that I'm not going to use them again. I have plenty more where that came from, etc. However, I may someday want to be able to show these articles to someone or just have them for myself. And you certainly can't count on anything on the Internet lasting. Cyberspace time is like dog years: 1 dog (Internet) year is like 7 human (real) years. Thanks for bringing this topic up!

I know that I have been very disappointed when several of these sites have gone under. Themestream was one of these sites, and there were a couple of others too where I had written some articles and poetry that I wish I would have saved. Once they were gone though, so was all of the work I had done. I guess we should learn from our mistakes.
