i am from the philippines and i was privileged to get a chance to visit one of our neighbors here in asia, thailand. i was with some of my friends and we went to chulachumklao royal military academy. it was night time when we arrived in bangkok and we were so tired that we didn't get to see much of what's outside the airport because we slept as soon as we got in the bus the would bring us to crma. in crma we got to tour their facilities and meet some of the cadets. everyone was so nice and the thai people look much like the filipinos. when we got the chance to tour around bangkok we realized that thailand really looks almost like the philippines if not for the buddhist temples that you see and the signs written in different characters and language. our trip to thailand, though short, was very memorable.aside from the fact that it was our first time to visit another country, we got to meet a lot of nice and friendly people. i hope i can go back there some time and see my friends who i hope will still remember me when i come :)

yeah ive been to chatuchcak market too..we bought a lot of things from there.almost all the things i brought home for my family and friends i bought there.we were with our thai friends so we got our souvenirs in a much cheaper price than what they would offer tourists.i haven't been to the other places that you mentioned because i was there primarily for an official business but i would also like to visit those places next time

yeah i think it's nice to know someone from there so you can get sweet deals..hehe..
the taxi drivers there were actually nice enough to give us tips on great places too..like this place which is the biggest jewelry store in the world...they took us there and the driver was honest enough to say that he wanted to take us there because they get some tshirts or other giveaways when they bring tourists there...it was a nice place...though it made us spent more than what we planned lol...i got an earring with my birthstone..
---im so madaldal haha...
your job must be nice...having the opportunity to travel and stuff..

yup, if it wasn't for my job i wouldn't have been able to go there. but my job isn't about travelling at all. we just went to thailand because many thais visit us every year and we want to pay them a visit too.that was the first and last time some of us were sent there
i try to keep in touch with my friends there.they are so nice.i know filipinos are hospitable and friendly but i couldn't believe just how nice they treated us there

i've been to phat phong and you're right, i was able to buy a lot of things there. i haven't been to phuket though, i know the beaches there are great, ive seen it from pictures but i don't think i would be going to thailand for the beaches because we have a little of great beaches here in the philippines where i would like to go to..but i would definitely want to see other sights in thailand :)

Hi, i'm from the Philippines too! I was in Bangkok, Thailand last September 2006 and I really appreciate the country's unique culture. I didn't also go around much, just went to the weekend market and of course, the Grand Palace. I just wish that our country could also develop tourist spots like the Grand Palace which is really a crowd drawer. That place is amazing!!
