Ok, we have all seen the boycott about not buying any gas on a certain day. Well I think a better solution would be to boycott Exxon/Mobile gas stations period. These are the two biggest oil companys and if they are not selling any gas at all then you better believe that they will lower their prices to get their business back. Drive across the street to fill up or down the road. If they lower their prices the other gas stations will follow suit. This way you still get gas whenever you need it and it will make them stand up and take notice that we are not going to take the price gouging any longer! So email everyone you know and pretty soon we will see a difference in gas prices. What do you say? Do you think it is worth a try?

If you want to boycott something, try the refineries and the oil brokers, you also might want to consider the auto companies that build cars that get less than 40 miles to the gallon. After you get through with all of the above you might read up on the cost of a product verses supply and demand. No matter what the cost of oil is, they can always sell more than they can pump.

Exxon/Mobil own the refineries and I was smart enough to buy a car that gets 40+ miles to the gallon. I do understand supply and demand. And if no one is pumping their gas then they have no demand, which increase the supply which brings down the cost at the pump.

What kind of car did you buy that gets 40 plus miles to the gallon? I live out in the country and my job requires that I drive 40 plus thousand miles a year and my fuel cost comes out of my pocket. I would be very happy to see 2.00 a gallon gas again. I must say, what you are suggesting would not even come close to working. Very few people understand the global oil market.

A Toyota Prius gets about 55 miles to the gallon combined (city and highway). And it is not a hybrid. It runs on regular gas.

I say this is a bad idea in that there is a better plan to deal with the problem of obsene profits generated by Exxon/Mobile. In a free capitalistic society like America, anyone can buy stock in a publically held corporation like Exxon/Mobil. So, don't boycott Exxon/Mobile, buy their stock. You think they are making way too much money? Join them! When enough of you buy into Exxon/Mobile, join forces to vote your collective shares to change the company's policy. The Exxon/Mobile stock symbol is XOM. Here is a URL for a stock chart. This is at YAHOO Finance and you can get much more info there about XOM. http://finance.yahoo.com/charts#chart1:symbol=xom;range=2y;indicator=volume+macd;charttype=line;crosshair=on;logscale=on;source=undefined

Not to mention that if you buy that stock at the right time, you can make some money.
