British Child 'Snatched' From Algarve Hotel

A major hunt is under way in a Portuguese holiday resort for a missing three-year-old British girl - her family say she was snatched while she slept in her hotel room.

Madeleine McCann, who has a twin brother and sister, disappeared while her parents were eating in the hotel dining room 40 yards away.
Tourists and expats have joined the police search.
Madeleine, from Rothley, Leicestershire, was sleeping in a locked apartment at the Ocean Club, a Mark Warner resort, in the town of Praia da Luz when she disappeared.
Her parents, Gerry and Katie McCann, returned to the flat to find the window "jemmied open" and the toddler missing, aunt Trish Cameron said.
"They kept going back to check the kids every half-hour. The restaurant was only 40 yards away," she said.
"He [Gerry] went back at 9 o'clock to check the children, Madeleine and the two-year-old twins.
what is this sad,sick world coming to i really hope they find her soon.

Oh God honey.. this is so terrible!!! I saw it on the news this morning and I just burst into tears! Those poor, poor people. I hate to say this but I think she got kidnapped by a pedophile and I think she is, I can't even type this!
I think what happened to her is almost the same as what happened to Jessica Lunsford. I hope and pray it is not but my gut tells me differently

This is such an awful thing to happen. I feel it is worse that it has happened whilst on holiday. It seems to be so random and why should it happen to them rather than anybody else. When stories like this appear it makes me feel so lucky that I have managed to get my pair to be teenagers with no mishaps.

I really feel for the poor parents. As long and she is found, or returned, safe and sound without any bodily harm then if it is a kidnapping for ransom I'm sure the parents would pay up. It is good that so many people are searching for the child.

i live in Portugal and i have to say this is passing on Tv all the time, i think this rappe maybe was premidited because she was kidnaped one day before parents go to england! Algarve it's at south of Portugal and it's like an england city replet by tourists and persons who want to spend vacations! this story is very sad i'm also very sad for parents no one was the right to take a child from their parents and so strange happen because we don't see this kind of thing here, Portugal it's a calm country! Im my opinion the girl was rapped maybe for a pedophile or for another crazy person! i hope they find her i'm listening the news everyday and they say the Mark Warner Resort didn't have cameras! The police saw all the houses at Praia da Luz and it's watching all the ground with dogs and everything! The Sun at england is offering money for anyone that find the girl! i hope they find her, poor parents it's so dificult for they i think when a person die we believe but when she disappear without knowing where is, human can become crazy because it's a suffering that doesn't finish anymore!

it makes me very sad and upset. what were the parents thinking, leaveing 3 unattended children in a hotel room in a foreign country. not only is it sickening to think someone would abduct a little child from their parents, i find it unmistakeably stupid that they would leave the children alone in the first place. don't people know that most hotels offer babysitting services, by reputable sitters. what is this world coming to
