Happy Cinco De Mayo 2007

Hi auburndreams. No I don't celebrate cinco De Mayo. I am new here in the US and it's the first time I hear about it this year. My brother in-law is building his house and he has some Mexican friends who are also working with him. So one day he said that his friends didn't come because it was cinco de mayo! Well I asked what it was about but he didn't know. Do you know what this celebration about? Eating Mexican food would be a very good way to celebrate! I love Mexican food.

I usually do just for the fun of it. Unfortunately I didnt get to walmart to get crumbled veggie meat to make tacos. I decided to make this really cute Mexican flag cake that Kraft created. I went and bought the things I needed to make it. Everything was going good until I realized the kiwis that I bought are not ripe at all so now I cannot use them. I am not pleased about it as my kids were looking forward to this. I'm trying to think what I could put on the left side of the dessert that would be green and taste good. I dont want to have to make another trip to the store though I've already been there twice in the past two days. I am attaching a picture of what the dessert is suppose to look like. Green marshmallows would work but I dont have them either. I think I have some green sprinkles that would make it green but definitly wont taste as good as kiwi would have.
