ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ. Okay, so I can say it from A-Z, but I have to admit I cannot say it from Z-A. I tried to when I was little, but I couldn't quite get it, so I gave up and I haven't tried to do it since. Do any of you know how to say the alphabet backwards or are you like me where you can only say it A-Z. Please share your thoughts.

I can't. I might, if I practise hard enough and memorize it like another alphabet. Otherwise no. I am not that much of a genius. :P

I did manage to say it backwards but it was a struggle. Perhaps that is because it is almost 1am and I should be in bed! We used to play a game about that as children and could sort of sing it backwards. It was fun. That is a bit like trying to write with the wrong hand. I used to practise that too. I once broke my collar bone so could not write correctly and had to try with my left hand so then decided to practise. I got quite good but have not done that for ages either.

Hello sacmom....
I have won many bets because I can say it backwards just a fast as anyone can say it frontwards. I can even start in the middle and go backwards or forwards anytime. I have even gotten out of a ticket by saying it backwards, the officer refused to believe that a drunk could say it backwards. If you want me to prove it, I'll give you my phone number in Nebraska.

That's amazing! No need to prove it, something tells me your are speaking the truth. :) If a cop pulled me over and asked me to say the alphabet backwards, whether I was drunk or not, I'd be in trouble! LOL

Hahaha I am happy to be able to say it forward. I wouldn't even attempt it backwards, I would get a headache.

I have also wondered why it's hard to say the alphabets backwards. Much more if you sing it with the same tune with the ABC. lol
Well maybe because since the early times when we learned to speak up a word and read it, we are taught to speak the alphabet in the right way. We were never taught to say it backwards. But i think we can learn on how to do it. We just have to memorize the backward alphabet.
