That twinkle twinkle little star and the abc song sound the same? I first became a parent 26 years ago and 3 kids later, this has finally dawned on me!

Yes it does! It seems that some other children songs also sounds the same.

It is true!! The melody is borrowed from classical music arrangements. When I decided I was bored I started taking guitar and piano lessons. These are the kind of songs they start you with. Once I was given a simplified classical piece and lo and behold it sounded like twinkle and baa baa black sheep. Once I was give a song called Aura Lee and realized that Elvis stole the melody for Love Me Tender.
