I think the accoustic versions have their pros and cons, recently a lot of the bands I listen to have put acoustic versions of their hits on their cds along with the original versions. For example, 'Breaking Benjamin' with 'so cold', I thought the original version was great, but the acoustic version is way overrated in my opinion. Another band I like is '10 years' who you probably haven't heard of, but you've probably heard their big song 'wasteland', they released an acoustic version of wasteland and I thought it was pretty good, but still not as good as the original.
I know this really wasn't what you were asking about, but felt like sharing anyways
