how to convert old VHS home movies to DVD?

I have some precious home movies I took in the 90's. Does anyone know how I can convert them? One of my tapes is already wearing thin.

Hi, you need to buy a vcr connector pci card (for PC),install it to your pc,connect your vcr,play your video and record it using suitable software Thanx, Wildsurf

Hi, i have a card tv in the pc thereofore i do in this way, attack the vcr to the pc then use the program "ulead video studio" and i convertthem in dvd. ^^

There are machines that you can buy to do it. Another way you can do it, is buy a PVR (personal video recorder). Play the tape on the TV, and record it with the PVR onto a DVD.
