OK , So I am pregnant again ! yay ! My baby girl just turned 1 this last month. Yeah , go figure! So this is my question: Last pregnancy I used lotion in my belly to prevent stretch marks and it didnt work , cause I have them. So I wonder If now that my skin is about to stretch again, I could gain a second chance or at least prevent to have double the amount. What kind of thing would you recommend for me to do to prevent stretch marks? If it is lotion , give me the brand name , explain to me what your expirience has been and if I have hope for a second chance. I am very young and I like my body , I have an awesome husband to look good for if you know what I mean! :) Thank you all !

Ok hun. Get some coaco butter. You want the kind that comes in a round container {its not a lotion}. You can find it at walmart or kmart. It is the best stuff ever. You can use it all the time. My husband used to rub it on me everynight. I would also put it on after a shower. It smells good, and leaves you very soft!! Use it 2-3 times a day to help and reduce the apperance of old stretch marks. You can also use it after the babys born. Hope this helps!!

I have 4 kids and tons of stretch marks. They make me sick to look at them. I am going to try the coaco butter. Have you used it to reduce the appearance of old stretch marks?

If you get stretch marks during pregnancy, then I doubt you can ever get rid of them. Now, some women don't get a single stretch mark. I guess some are more lucky then others. I have always heard though that stretch marks are permanent. I mean they do fade, but I honestly don't think they go away. I have heard that coca butter lotion works to help fade stretch marks and even scars. Find anything with coca butter in it and apply every single day as much as you can. That is all I can really tell you. I have tried it on scars and it worked, it faded my scar on my hand pretty fast. All you can do is try, right? Maybe even a doctor can give you some good advice about stretch marks. Good luck and congrats with the pregnancy.

my sister had 2 kids they are now 9 and 7 and she is pregnant at the moment with the third but she said she used alovera cream (not sure of the correct spelling) and then my other sister hs 1 child and she use it as well, they both dont have bad stretch marks. like they have some but not major bad ones or that stick out. my sister who has the 1 child, she actually grew the aleovera plant herself.

Well for one thing, you should scratch your belly. But for sure you'll have stretch marks because your skin stretched when you are pregnant. It is but natural. But there are lotions now that can minimize stretch marks. Try to look for chinese medicines or lotions, these are great, or if you are in the philippines try vaseline stretch minimizing lotion

ok..well i have 3 kids and no stretchmarks..i feared the same thing so i began using Palmer's cocoa butter lotion on my belly everyday, because my belly would itch so much driving me so crazy ! so it would soothe the itching plus i would use it numerous times a day.. i had one that i kept at home(the large size) and the smaller size i could keep in my car or in my purse for when i went out..but i kept my my skin moisturized with Palmer's and i guess that gave my skin pliability ti stretch without leaving the marks..Congrats on the new baby! BIGGER CONGRATS on the newer one to come! hope this helped you!

too bad to hear that........i should say i am lucky enough coz i got 4 kids without any stretch mark at all and i owe it to my husband who hits my hand whenever he sees it on top of my belly and start to scratch. i'm not sure though if it's true or not but i used to scratch my tummy with a comb and not my fingers.....and it worked hahaha these old beliefs!

Using oils (Palmers Cocoa Butter is a good one) will help but to be honest some people are just naturally prone to stretch marks. I have them and my daughter got them too when she was pregnant last year. Both of us used oils and lotions etc but despite that we still got them although I guess they could have been worse which is why I say using oils might help to reduce their appearance.

I don't think there is much you can do to prevent them. Some people get them and some don't. As far as your husband goes.... it is his baby you're carring. It will be ok either way as far as the stretch marks go. Just a price we pay for bringing little ones into the world. Best wishes with the new baby!

I feel this way every time i end up pregnant. Oh i have four children and one on the way. I know that's a lot. Anyways i have found out that there is no way to really get ride of the streach marks. To me it's a sign of something that i was able to do. It's a sign of acomplish ment. Your husband would be happy now matter if you couldn't get ride of them or not. It's not your body that he really loves it's you and what you can accomplish. My husband loves looking at my body all stretch marks and all. My first 2 kids didn't really give me many but my daughter gave me more stretch marks then all of the kids put togeather. The ones that you have now will help when you start to expand but you may get just a few more. If you still have a lot of problems with them ask your doctor what you can do and they might have some more sugestions. Doctors have been through this with so many women that they should know.

It is a pretty reminder of what us, mom's get to do.But I think I am too concern.Like I said I am young and I feel like I am destined to wear clothes that always hides those less sexy parts of my body.I'll always have my babies to remind me what I have done or acomplished , after all! But If I dont get to get rid of my stretch marks or make them be less visible , after a while I am sure will get use to it, I'll have to. Thanks for the post

I'm afraid I don't know of anything that will prevent you from getting stretch marks a second time around . I have so many stretch marks from having my children and tried everything to prevent myself from getting them but to no end as I have so many that you can't even tell what my stomach may have looked like at one time . I have stretch marks on top of stretch marks and with my last two I didn't think it would be possible to get more as there is no space on my stomach that is not marked by stretch marks but I learned they can go even deeper into your stomach with each child . All I can tell you is that it has to do with the elasticity of our body and if you are small to begin with it will increase your chances of geting them as the stomach has not been stretched . My husband is a good man and does not make any comments about my stomach as he knows it is something that bothers me terribly as I used to look good before I had children and now I feel freakish with how bad my stomach was marked but I try to keep in mind that I would not change this for anything as this was accomplished because of my beautiful children I have today and my husband is wonderful as he always tells me that I am beautiful no matter what . Take Care , I wish I could offer you more but just keep in mind that this is all for your family and I am sure your husband will realize this as well .

I tried almost everything to prevent my stretch marks while I was pregnant. When that baby decided to start moving all around to come out there was nothing to be done right at that moment to prevent them from coming. Stretch marks were the last thing on my mind at that time anyways.

Well the Doctora all told me coco butter and my sis we were pregnant at the same time. Well I gained 30 pounds the recomended weight gain and my sis gained a whopping 50 pounds we both used the coco butter she has like 2 stretch marks and I have a whole stomach full. We talked to the doctors and they said that it just dependes sometimes on your skin type they said prob my sis had more elasiticity in her skin than I did and that even though I used the butter it was just my skin type so I was just destined to have stretch marks I know it sucks but what can you do I hop that if you do try the coco butter it works better for you than it did me.
