Are You a "Dog" Person or a "Cat" Person? And why?

I am a "dog" person. I love dogs more than cats. I had many dogs in the past. They were the most cute and smart animals. Besides, dogs are loyal. Dogs can also be a good listener when you are down. I believe that they can also understand what we say. They can protect their masters. Dogs can assist humans in many ways. They can help handicapped people, they can assist police's jobs.
So how about you?

I have two cats and one dog. I love my papillion but I do love my cats the best. I love their independance and they always use the cat box. My dog has accidents on the floor and he has a yapping problem. I have had to get a braking coller for him. It shockes himw when he barks. If I leave it on him it makes sores on his neck because it whindes up in his hair and then mattes.
Now the cats cry when they are hungry and they purr when they are on my lap. They do not need me to stop what I am doing to through their toy they play at my feet.
I do love my cats the best.

Oh, I am so sorry about your dog. Can your dog get along with your cat? My dogs can't. Every time, they saw cats, they would bark and run into them aggressively.

Hello,friendship,I like dogs more than cats.It seems that dogs can understand human beings better than cats,when they know you are not happy, they will also be unhappy and sit at the corner of the house, looking at you with their innocent eyes,when they know you are happy, they will approach you,lick you and hug you at the same time wiggling their tails. When they know you jusy come back from work, they will 'pick up 'the thongs for you and welcome you at the front doors. They are cute.:)

You know... when my feeling was down, I always talked to my dogs. Then, They tried to entertain me. One of my dogs could bark very funny. I often laughed about it. Another one, she could open the skin of nuts and didn't eat it because my dog ever saw me eating nuts. I ever asked my dog -- If you understood what I was talking about, you should kiss me. My dog kissed me!!

I actually think I like both equally. Right now because of where I live, renting a house, I only have a cat but I so very much miss not having a dog.

I love hearing the story about your dog and I do mark you as the best answer :-) Yes, dogs can bark agressively. That's why your landlord doesn't allow some dogs.

Wow - my mind must not be on discussions right now after submitting my response I looked and this had to have been one of my worst responses ever :(
I like cats because they tend to be more independant - not as demanding. Right now 4:15a.m. my cat is laying on the cedar chest in front of the window in my bedroom. She's waiting until I open the window then she'll lay there and watch the birds outside in hopes the screen will fall out so she can escape...
I like dogs because every dog I've ever had has been great fun and companionship. They are more work though having to take them outside to do their business though - in and out in and out...

I guess I would be a "dog" person if only given these two choices....but in reality, I prefer horses and birds.
I have had several different kinds of pets in my household through the years....dogs, cats, rabbits, iguanas, horses,snakes of varying types, hamsters, a multitude of birds and some other I have probably forgotten.
I truly enjoy and love my pets!
