Have you ever had a professional massage done?
For what purpose, for physical relief - relaxation?
Was the masseuse a male or female? did their gender make you uncomfortable?
Do you have to expose yourself for the massage?
I am asking because I was thinking it might be a good mother's day gift for my mom - but not ever having had one before myself, I am not quite sure what she should expect.

I have had massages before and some were very good and some were very rough! Sometimes I guess it depends on the persons technique and thoughts to the patient/customer. Just be very specific about what you want, or they will do their own thing!

Massage is very good for your body.It will increase the blood circulation to the skin and thus increase the blood circulation to that part of the skin and incresaing the vitality of the skin.
In ayurveda masage is a very imporatant to iseases by removing the toxins which are deposited in that region and help to rmove the toxins and thus curing the diseases

No, I have never had a professional massage. I really have no desire to have one. I dont think I would enjoy a stranger's hands on my body. LOL My daugther receved a gift certificate for a day at the spa from her husband. She loved it. She said the massage felt so good. That still didnt give me the desire to have one. LOL

Smiling to myself, I have to say start with a pedicure or manicure! My daughters are always saying hey mom how about a massage this year. I say not on your life. I don't want some stranger touching me. But they love it! I am slowly getting warmed up to the idea. But I still haven't gone for the manicure or pedicure yet so I doubt that massage will be anytime soon.

I love getting a proffesional massage. I find it very relaxing and good for sore back. I have not had one for a while, unfortunately. I used to have a female do it, and i felt very relaxed. One day i went somewhere else and it was a male. I wasnt sure at first, but he was great, and made me feel welcome, and did a good massage. I think it is a wonderful thought for your mother. If you are not sure if she would like it maybe both of you could go

I'd massage experience before to relax my body and mind.
The masseuse was a female and it was comfortable and relaxing.
Yes you need to expose yourself when having massage in order to get the best effect.
How about experiencing the massage with your mum side by side? It would be great.
