FlashGot ?

whenever i click on a link to download something in firefox, a 'message' will be prompted;
what should firefox do with this file?
- open with xxx
- flashgot
- save to disk
what is FlashGot?? hope someone can enlighten me..thanks ;)

Are you sure it is Flashgot or Flashget? I haven't heard of flashgot. Check if it is flashget, if it is, A flashget is like a download manager where you can stop your download and resume it again if you want to. It also acts as a download accelerator where you can download files faster than ordinary downloading. "Flashget can automatically split files into sections or splits, and download each split simultaneously. Multiple connections are opened to each file and the result is the most efficient exploitation of the bandwidth available." Hope this helps!

Oh, I missed the part when you said firefox. I have searched and yes, there is indeed flashgot. Maybe its just a conuterpart of flashget in internet explorer.

FlashGot is a downloads manager. I've been using it for a lot of time now and find it great. It interfaces with all major browsers (IE, Firefox, Flock and Opera) so it's very versatile.
I think you might have installed the flashgot plugin for firefox but haven't installed the main application...
