I access internet using Cell Phone. My Cell is interfaced to the Computer using Bluetooth. It does not have Cable Connectivity. Does this affect the Internet speed?

Hi Anup, First of all, a warm Welcome to you at myLot! Of course the speed of computer also matters; but in this case the bluetooth's really slowing down the access speed. The same computer when connected @ 33.6Kbps using dial-up gives faster speed than using a Cell that connects @ 115Kbps. Bluetooth has a limitation!

Of course. I'm using wireless connection and it makes my download and upload speed very low. If your are using bluetooth then it makes your internet connection very slow. Aside from the fact that bluetooth has very slow download speed.

Yes Buddy, we're as it is accessing Net without wires through Cell Phone and again we're using a slower wireless device to interface Cell and the Comp. This is definitely going to slow down the speed. Feel I should change the handset!

Even I use Nokia 6600. I have AirTel Connection. But I find the Net speed quite slow thru Bluetooth.

Bluetooth transfers data at a rate of 721 Kbps (about 70kb/s). If Your internet connection is faster than that then it's probably limiting it.

Thanks for the technical info my Friend! As you said, Bluetooth transfers data @ a rate of 70Kbps, it's obvious to experience a slow speed because the internet speed on my Cell is 115Kbps.
