Talk less of more?

This is a debate popular for so many years. Some says talking more will enhance friendships, positions and social appearance and some says it is the opposite. One proverb: "Winning a debate is losing a friend" I think it is correct. In my opinion talking less and listening more increases your friends. Am I correct?

It's right,I believe. Listening is a great thing that be more important than speaking. It shows your respect to the speaker and it will make you easier to go with your friends. But sometimes you need to speak more, especially when the people around you are imcommunicative and prefer to listening.

I really am not sure about it. I talk a lot. But i have lots of friends. I guess it depends on what you talk about. But then balancing both is the best way... talking and listening. Sometimes, a friend needs to hear from you, too, for him/her to know what's on your mind. And in friendships, it isn't really giving way in debates/arguments but meeting halfway with the other to come up with a nice conclusion that won't step over each other's opinion.

Too true my friend. Knowing when to keep one's mouth shut is a real challenge; however, good friends will accept you for who you really are and will "agree to disagree"...
