Well, I don't know about you, but I can't sit in a movie theater without a snack, even if I've just had lunch or dinner, it just doesn't seem right.
When I watch movies at home, that's never the case, but at the cinema, I better have something to munch on.
The best snacks would have to be something that's not too messy, and easy to eat, and something you don't have to look at constantly while eating. I guess the most popular snack is popcorn, and it is for me too.
My favorite is the sweet/caramel popcorn, or sometimes I like a mix of the sweet with the regular.
Another of my favorites is the chicken popcorn from KFC, that is a great movie snack, of course its' also one that has to be sneaked in, but lucky for me, being a girl, I just hide it in my bag. I once sneaked in a whole medium sized pizza in my bag, but that's a story for another time, I guess.
I also enjoy the nachos with cheese, but it's hard to dip and then eat and you constantly have to look at it, so I try to avoid it, especially if I'm watching a movie where I can't afford to look away.
So what are your favorite snacks at the movies? Do you ever sneak any of your favorites in?

I love popcorn, so I would choose that as my favourite snack at the movies or theatre. When I was visiting the States a couple of years ago, I came across Poppycock Popcorn, toffee coated and containing pecan and brazil nuts. Yummy, it was the best I've ever tasted.
Brightest Blessings.

I really like popcorn or nachos with cheese and chillis! Thing is though they are horrendously expensive to buy at the cinema which really narks me so much, so I tend to sneak in snacks and drinks and to be honest I don't give a damn what they think...if they want to have people buy stuff from the cinema they should really consider lowering prices a bit.
One snack I will take into the cinema that they do not usually sell is pork rinds...yummy!

Oooo, chicken popcorn sounds yummy, never tried that!
I like taking candies with me into the cinema too, sometimes Starburst (I really like the sour ones) or when I can get them Jolly Ranchers are cool too.

oh no, don't tell me you've never tried the chicken popcorn from KFC, I'm sure you must have.....
Well I like to take candy too, I love jelly beans or smarties, but then I get thirsty after something sweet and I gotta drink lots of water which would mean I might have to go take a bathroom break in the middle of the movie, which I hate, so I try to stay away from candy at the movies.

Yeah, those nachos are really expensive here too, I love them, but I don't prefer to have them at the movies, it's too much work, you know dip them and then eat, and they can be messy. I love sneaking in stuff too, especially the chicken popcorn.

Popcorn is the standard movie snack, and for a long time, milkduds, but I also like m&m's, or reeses pieces.
As for sneak in snack, when we were kids you couldn't get pretzels at the movies so we sneaked those or cheese doodles in.
and I still associate snowcaps with going to the movies.
Since pop secret makes movie theater butter microwave popcorn, I can have my popcorn for movies at home.
Unfortunately the last time I went to the movies the pop corn was aweful, actualy the last couple of years it is just not up to statards since they don't make it at the movies like they used to instead it is in large bags brought in and stored in a store room, well I can buy that at the grocery store, melt my own butter and add it to the top.
Finding a movie theater that actually makes the popcorn is the hard part.

mm... pretzels are a good movie snack, I guess, I've never actually had a pretzel in my life, shocking, although I'm sure they must be great.
You know you're right, about finding a movie theater with good popcorn, it does influence my choice of theaters which in turn influences my choice of movies, since different cinemas play different stuff...Amazing, I just realized this now...
I guess snacks are more important than we think...

LOL yes it is amazing, what influences where we go, and what we do.
For me it is the seating, and the popcorn, to me going to the movies to go to the movies just doesn't cut it. I am old enough to remember when going to the movies was a GREAT experience. Now the seats are like the crappy seats on a bus, half the time. And the snacks are stale.
You would think with the whole multiplex thing that it would generate enough business as some of them show as many as 15 different films, that the snacks would be at least fresh.
I still prefer one that is about hour away now that I have moved, and as they keep working on the place to modernize I no longer like all the theaters that are in that multiplex, it was one of the few whose multi theaters still had the feel of the movie theaters I went to as a kid.
Though I remember when when you went to the movies you got the main feature, the secondary or b, film, and maybe a short or two. No I am not so old that I am talking about the days of news reels etc.
Back in the 70's towards the end of the drive in era was when they started making the changes.
It is kind of sad that drive in's faded out my niece has never been to a drive in, never seen one.
I don't know if where you are at they had drive in theaters. If you ever saw the movie Grease you know what a drive in movie is.
And one of the last drive in's in my state was near my home and I saw Star Wars there. LOL sometimes depending on where you wanted to part ot see the movie, you would drive to the snack buidling before parking.
LOL but on the up side if you had to go the bathroom you got to see the movie all the way to bathroom. Couldn't really hear much unless you were near other cars who had their speakers turned on as you walked past. but it was still a fun experience.

Yup, I sure do know what a drive in movie is, but there isn't anything like that here, so never been to one. I would like to, though. When I see people going to drive in movies in the movies, it looks fun.
Fortunately, the movie theater that I go to, which is a multiplex at the mall, still has the best snacks, and they are oh, so fresh!! That's why I prefer going only there, I hate the sweet popcorn at the other mall. And unfortunately that's where they showed "the marine" which I had been waiting for, for so long. Well, I didn't go there, now I'm waiting for the DVD, still!

I seldom bring anything in to eat or drink. That's because I usually plan my movies before or after meal times. I would want to disrupt the movie with my munching of popcorns to be honest (*hint* *hint*) unless that movie is just 100% full of screaming and yelling that no one will hear anything else anyway. :P

Well I guess it depends on how loud a muncher each one of us is. I'm usually not that loud or I might not have noticed yet, hmmm... now you've made me think....
Well, I guess I'm the type who's not easily annoyed anyway, even if there is a loud muncher sitting next to me, so my own munching would be nothing in comparison. I guess I can just phase out and completely be in the movie regardless of the noises.

It's so hard to enjoy the snack and do it quietly and slowly at the same time. :P

My favorite snacks inside the movie house depends on where I'm watching it. I only watch movies in Rockwell, Shangri-La and Glorietta, sometimes even in Podium. When I'm in Shangri-La, I only buy Coke Light and Pringles from the cinema bar because they only allow food from the cinema bar. But in Glorietta, I buy Tater's Potato Chips Large and Wendy's Bigtime Coke. Glorietta and Rockwell allow outside food so it depends on my mood and my appetite. Sometimes I buy from McDonald's, Wendy's, Jamaican Beef, Starbucks. Whatever I feel like eating.

Thanks for the best response! :)
Anyway, it's cool most cinemas here allow oustide food. I'm so thankful as I love to eat inside the movie house and I don't like eating the same food from the cinema bar everytime I watch there. Lol. How come they don't allow it there? Maybe they have wide variety of food to choose from already?

Yeah, I did! Once I bought an apple pie from Mc Donalds and I sneaked it into my pants pockets. I also bought a regular sized french fries and sneaked it into my other pocket. Lol... at one time I even bought a box of KFC and put it in my medium sized handbag. They didn't check me, and it was the most enjoyable moment of movie watching.

Well everytime I go see a movie I always get the same snack, no matter what. Even if I've just eatten right before going to the movie I have to get it. I get a large coke and a box of skittles and a bag of twizlers. I'm not really big into popcorn but I love skittles and twizlers. They are easy to eat and don't make a huge mess. That and by the end of the movie I've got a crazy sugar high.

I love popcorn, cheese flavor. I also love fries, chips and burgers (minus the overloading sauces because it will get messy).

I go only for popcorn in cinema theaters. They just make movie more great and you can enjoy it at the fullest with popcorn. Even they are cheaper and light weighted eating stuff.

Before I started losing weight and put myself on a diet I LOVED to get the Jolly Rancher Fruit Chews...oh yummm!
Then I like to eat popcorn with the pepper juice from their peppers, but sometimes I don't crave that so I don't eat it.
Now I like to sneak it JuJuBes into the Theater *gasp* lol. They are fat free and better for you than those YUMMY Jolly Rancher Fruit Chews.
And I always get an Icee for a drink! yum yum :)

My favorite snack at the theatre has to be popcorn..you just can't find popcorn at the store that tastes so good..and when I order my popcorn and they ask if I want butter..I say "Oh Yeah"..so they fill the huge drum halfway with popcorn add butter for about 20 seconds then they fill the rest of it with popcorn and add butter for another 20 seconds..till it's practically swimming..then I add a bit of salt..shake it up and walla my favorite theatre treat..hmmmmm. If the kids want candy we hit the local Dollar General store first and stock up on all sorts of candy.
