Many years ago, when I lived up north, I got involved with a spiritualist church - my first encounter with any form of ESP. It was all because me and (then) girlfriend experienced weird happenings in the house we were renting at the time.
There was this sweet little old lady running a spiritual service one afternoon, came to me and said I was to be a healer - that I would head back down south, way past Birmingham to practice healing. I felt I had no intention of doing this as my life was that of a musician and the North was the best place for me to be. And me doing the laying-on-of-hands didn't do much for the ego of a 20 year old. But that wasn't what it was all about.
Well it all happened even down to having a flat tyre that I was warned about, but did nothing about.. The spare wheel turned out to be flat as well! All this specific information that I was mentally ticking off in my mind as it happened.
The only problem now with my "psychicness" is that I always feel what others are feeling and it manifests as extreme discomfort at times. However, strange as it may seem, I would not change it as it is a process of transcendence for me. Although sometimes I wonder just how much my body and nervous system can take. But the techniques I am learning, I pass on to others.
As I respond to your posts, I get the sense that you are going through some tough times also, all pertinent to your growth and development. You need to wrestle with these issues - only you have the answers, but it is the struggle that makes them valuable. :)

Wow, Derek_a, you've discribed almost the exact experiences that I have had. Another person here discribed it as a "knowing" and that's the term I've used before as well. I've also discribed myself as an Empath (like Troy on Star Trek the Next Generation) because I, too, feel what others are feeling. And it's true too, that this gift comes with great pain (especially when something involves someone you care about) but I wouldn't give this up for anything. I truly believe that once I am properly "trained", I will be able to use this gift to help people somehow.

I don't really believe that I am. But there are times when I just get a sense about something and often I am right.
I am a very sensitive person and I have to be careful about it.

well, for example, I can sense when something is terribly wrong with someone like maybe something going wrong in their life. I know a lot of people can do that, especially with people very close to them. But I am so sensitive that it is like I almost take on their hurt or pain without meaning to or even without knowing what is going on with them.
That may not be a good explanation, but that is what I meant by being careful about it.

I guess I am sometimes I mean there was many a time I thought about writing and I always told myself to stop being Silly that I am not able to do it
I am now writing a book as you know and the only reason I am is because a couple of People have told me to go for it as they think I can do it
So we will see lol
There where lots of things that I wanted to attempt but never did and probably won't now

I dont think i'm psychic by any means, but if there is something wrong around me, weather it be with my hubby, or some immediate family, i can sense something is not right. I dont know what it is, but i just feel something isnt' right and that is kind of a creepy feeling. Is this what you mean ? I wish i was psychic! that would make life a little easier in some ways.. harder in others i spose. Do you suppose Sylvia Browne is the real deal.. ? check out her website if you dont know who she is.. She has like 7540354 books out. (that's my exaggeration of the day)

I agree with you Eskarena, I think we all have the ability and I also think it is how open we are to the posibility that determines the strength of the ability.

i am very aware of my gifts and actually use them on a regular basis. but i also see what you are saying about others having the gifts but not really noticing it or rather recognizing that they have a gift. im a very firm believer that everyone is psychic, just that some know how to tap into it better than others.

I think I am..although its not always great knowing what people around me are thinking or feeling. Most of my um lol I don't even know what to call it--centers around empathy. Most of what I get from others comes as an emotion, and with that comes thoughts and so on.

I can but not very often. Usually I get a feeling about a place and I always follow through with my feelings. Especially when the hairs on the back of my neck are standing up.

I feel that I most definately have something going on in my brain. A great example would be about how I knew when my manager was pregnate even before she or her husband did. I remember as she came out from a room, she looked at me for a second and the feeling I got was "guilt" then, the next thing that came to my head was "she's pregnate". I spent the next month or so trying to figure out if I was right but I new that all I could really do was wait. About a month later, she told us of her pregnancy. There's a lot more to this story but too much to explain. I know that I do have somekind of "special awareness" but I'm still not quite sure what it is. I am currently seeking spiritual help in the matter because it is starting to affect my life.

Yes, I think spiritual guildance for me is extremely important. I have had experiences that have made me question my own sanity. I've often thought "Is this real?" and "This is stuff you only read about in books" I've been told that it would be best for me if I could find a mentor to help me find out what's really going on and to teach me to use it wisely.

If I choose too, I can see and sense things that are not on our plane (can't seem to hear them though, not sure why) but I'm not too sure what to do with the ability. I found that it is easier to just close off the ability and ignore it till something pops up. So far nothing much has.
It's hard to walk around with something like that open in day to day life.

There are times, when I feel I am tuned in to things. I wouldn't call it psychic ability but I am not sure what to call it. Sometimes I just feel that I know what is going to happen next. Other times I have dreamt about something and it has happened. It is difficult to to define. It is also not something that I can count on, because other times I have had these dreams and it has not been correct.

i certainly agree that we can not count on it nor indeed control it. However, i have heard of people who can, maybe they are more gifted than me

I have not seen any psychic ability people. Hope they really read our future. I have many a doubts in my life but i will keep it suspense and will not reveal it from someone who is psychic. Life is a strange thing. If you will know what lies in the future it will be no more interesting. Hope i will never meet a psychic person
