Spoon, Fork and Knife...Left Hand or Right Hand?

What hand do you normally use when handling your spoon and fork or your fork and knife? Some people find it weird that I use my left hand for my spoon and my right hand for my fork or sometimes left hand for my fork and right hand for my knife. I tell them that I'm left handed but they still insist that most left handed handle their utensils the same way as right handed people does. Anyways, I'm just curious. How about you guys?

Good post, so I gave you a + rate. It will help you with your star numbers. I am right handed. I use the spoon in my right hand. When using a knife and fork, I use the fork in my left, the knife in my right to cut. I use the fork alone, in my right hand.

That is exactly that way I am. I cannot hold the knife in my left hand and the fork in my right. I probably do that because I am really using the knife for cutting, and just the fork in the left hand for balance and keeping it still! :D

I use my right hand for my spoon and fork. And, I think that I do that because I am a Right! But, when I am using a knife...I hold the fork in my left hand, and the knife in the right hand. I think that I use the knife in the right hand when cutting meat so that I have better control and the fork is just to keep it steady. Oh, and my brother is left handed and he eats with his spoon, and fork in his left hand! :) So, they are wrong about that!

When i eat i use my left hand for fork and right for the knife while eating. i m comfortable in cutting with my right hand only and eating with fork , with my left. if i m using spoon then i dont remember that i use a fork also because i donyt think they both match in any fod which i eat. i eat either with a spoon, or a fork and a knife, i never remember eating anything with a fork and spoon or a knife and spoon. for me its either a spoon or a fork and a knife.

Oh, here in the Philippines we usually use spoon and fork at home because we always eat rice with our meals so it's much easier for us to use spoon. But when we eat at restaurants, like for me, I eat with fork and knife even with rice. I don't know.

I always use my right hand. But when I have a knife and fork in my hand, getting ready to cut something, I have the fork in my left and the knife in my right hand. I'm a right hand person.

I'm naturally right-handed, but I'm practicing to become ambidextrous, so I will hold my fork & spoon in either hand. I always hold my knife in my right hand though because I heard that was proper etiquette. So if I'm eating with both a knife & fork, then the fork will be in my left hand, but if there is no knife, then the hand varies. If I'm writing something & want my penmanship to be neat, then I write with my right hand and use utensils in my left.

Fork left, knife right, spoon right. I am both handed. I can do it the other way around as well fork right knife left, but not used to it.
