New or hot discussions?

Do you like replying to discussions already going on or do you go by the new discussions and discussions with no responses to basically give the first kick into the discussion?
Myself I like responding to discussions with no responses yet or relatively new discussions, but I noticed how the top discussions appear to be getting more replies by a lot of the same people in each discussion without many of them actually showing up as the first reply to a discussion.
So what do you do yourself? Go for the new discussions or the hot topics and top discussions?

I reply to discussions that interest me and that I think I can add something new or interesting to. I don't usually reply to ones with loads of replies already though. It takes such a long time to read all of the replies and there are so many discussions I would rather help people get a few replies to boost their earnings. Hoping they might do likewise (pretty please!). I did try starting replies to new discussions but lost about 10 replies over the last month from discussions being deleted so I think it was probably those. You are doing really well.

i prefer replying to hot discussion.. sometimes i don't know whether the new discussion violate the posting rules or not.. i've tried posting into many new discussion last time.. and then. .my earnings went down alot.. and i didn't know why... then i decided to post in hot discussion only.. but i think it's the same.. because recently.. my earnings went down again.. it's okay i guess.. atleast i'm still earning the minimum payout.. no harm to me though.. i think still have to thanks mylot for paying us.. hopefully they're not troubled by egold issues =)

I used to reply new disscussons coz I think the poster is online at that moment, so I reply it as quickly as possible to hope a interactional chat between the poster and I, but the result is dispointing me most of time with no reply to me at all.
Being a member three weeks now, I am now paying much attentino to the top disscussions& hot topic. This time the chance to get the reponse or maybe sometimes just a 'thank you' is larger than answering the new ones.

I agree I find it harder to get into the conversation with hot topics.. plus new user discussions new discussions and discussions with no responses are the juiciest for new friends new ideas new arguements and more money.. thats my secret at mylot! My goal is to put my topics in the hot topics to me that is a trophy case for the day not a source for information or discussion.

I don't even deal with the top discussions..I mostly stick to the ones with no responses, the ones I started, the ones from my friends, and the ones I responded to already..the top ones never really interested me and there's usually over 20 responses there already...

I like new things coming up..!
Why to follow the already going discussions..!!
Start a new one And enjoy the difference...!!
Its not that I like to reponse to some kind of category or what!!
I just love different topics and people with different views towards life and things..!!
So i'll go for NEW topics.
Have Fun.

I just kinda skip around a lot, and look at everything. But usually I start with my friends.

The three main categories I go to basically are: Recent discussions, discussions with no responses and discussions my friends started. When I don't find discussions I can contribute to, I then move over to the rest.

I like to reply to the discussions my friends post, the discussions from my interests, those with no responses, and those from new users. Obviously, we all want to help our friends out by sharing discussions with them. Discussions within my interests are most likely to be about things that I would be able to best respond to. Those from new users will help them to get started within myLot, because I remember starting out here and not having many responses because I didn't know anyone here. All discussions should have at least one response. If I can give a quality response to that discussion then I am happy. I really don't worry about the hot topics or top discussions. They get enough responses without any help from me. If it falls within my interests or is posted by one of my friends, I will likely respond to it later.

I tend to responde to discussions that are listed within my interests lists. Then I surf over to users with responses to those discussions I liked to see what kind of discussions they've posted . . . that's how I found this discussion! :-)
