shahrukh khan the bollywood actor says
It makes it easier to get happiness. I do believe in a material world to a certain extent. I think material happiness is quite an important step before you look for spiritual happiness. There are people who think the other way round. They might also be right. But in the kind of education and the world where I have grown up, and we all are growing up, a certain level of consumerism become a reality.
I am not saying that it’s a dog-eat-dog or a really dangerous world out there. But the way you cannot deny something like ‘North Korea has tested a nuclear weapon,’ you also cannot belie the fact that materialism is the order of the day.
You can’t close your eyes or hide your face like an ostrich. In this world you need to have certain amount of comfort. What was luxury once has today become basic necessity.
There was a time when a car was considered a luxury; a second television was a big no-no. But today you need to have two sets of televisions. I think it is okay to have a certain amount of material comfort. Beyond that, emotional happiness will only come if you re honest, clear and in love with your near and dear ones.
what do you think about this....?

I think money can't buy happiness. I think money is the root of greeds. more greeds will pull the person to become more and more worried about the savings, about earning more, about where is the best and safe place to store the money. I know some rich people that have trouble of sleeping because they are obsessed with their money and they fear of losing the money. so, I don't think money can buy happiness.

i exactly agree on you..Material things can be a factor to happiness...as much as people deny that..but its the reality above all. Our emotional happiness can be affected wioth money also..though it may not be a forever happiness but it a reality that it is needed to be happy. The va;lues will dissapear if poverty is there...it is one of the reasons of crimes...material things.we may deny the truth but we need money to be happy.
though real happiness comes from within us...the people around us and our fullfillment will make us feel real happiness...the values we have that we never alowed to be at risk in exchanged of the material things.
At the end, i still consider happiness is from us ourselves and our fullfillment plus our loveing family and loved ones.

I don't think money can make people happy. The more money a person has the less happy they seem. I have been to developing countries where the people are very poor. However little they have they seem to be happy. Material comfort does not matter to these people but many of them have emotional happiness. As time has moved on more and more households are getting lots of electrical goods. It has become a throw away sort of world. Years ago people would make do with very little but nowadays they expect more.
