Brad has some weird songs - this is the weirdest. I agree that it's kind of inappropriate. The rest of the song is allright, but the whole I've got your back..and your front?? I don't think it's a good song because of the whole tick thing - there are many other songs that say I like you, and want to get to know you better without having bugs in them!

Only Brad can get away with a song that talks about checking you for ticks. I love Brad's music. His dad song is one of the best I've ever heard. If you don't ike Brad I'm not sure about you ;-).

I have not heard this one yet..I'll have to see if I can find it just so I can hear it. It sounds like it would be an odd song LOL!

The song is cute! Do get it. It says the girl's jeans are playin' peek-a-boo, and he'd like to see the other half of her butterfly tattoo. Then goes on to say, he'd like to walk her through a field of wildflowers, see her under the moonlight, yadda yadda. "I'd like to check you for ticks." Cute song. =P

Where is your sense of humour. Brad Paisley has written tons of very humourous songs. He sang one at his concert that I am hoping he will record. It's called "I'm Just A Guy". He is pointing out the differences between men and women. I guess you'd be offended by that too.
I love his "Ticks" song as well as the other songs on his "Mud On The Tires" CD. They are great for a good laugh. There's nothing wrong with that.

First off, I like the song. I think it's cute. (As I SAID). I didn't say I was offended. Brad Paisley happens to be my favorite country artist. It IS all in good fun, but, just like others here on Mylot, I was posting a discussion to get opinions of others that have heard the song; NOT to get demeanded by you or anyone else. My sense of humor? It's right here. *points*
The reason I posted this was, again, to get opinions of others. And except for you, that's exactly what I got. There are a couple parts in the song that play on the edge of inappropriate, just because of the wording used.
Are you from the country? I don't mean "A place in California that has cows." I mean, are you a COUNTRY person. Country girl. Country boy. Whichever. If you know, truly, what "check you for ticks" means, then you'd get the point of this discussion. If not, you can picture Brad Paisley very CLOSELY checking some chick for ticks, in between, all around, and INSIDE of her every body part. Offended? Nope, not me. I'm a country girl. I believe I've been checked for ticks a few times. ;] *giggles*

Lol, no I haven't seen the video for Ticks yet. That would be.. interesting to say the least. And I think you're right. I don't think Brad Paisley would go as far in the video as the song lets on. And I say that with the previous media response that Rascal Flatts got for showing his booty in the video. =P
I suppose I should have been more clear when I said "inappropriate." I have a 4 year old son that absolutely repeats everything he hears. So far, Tim McGraw's "Fly Away" has been stuck in his head. But, about a year and a half ago, he was running around singing "My hump, my hump, my lovely lady lumps." *giggles* That one was sure hard to explain to my parents.. Lol! Hopefully, he won't be telling any girls in kindergarden next year that he wants to check them for ticks. o.O That'll be a call home for sure. =P

I heard it the first time on the radio and I recognized Brad's voice right away. He's always had a cheeky song here and there on his albums, but I was very surprised how much he pushed the envelope this time. At least for country standards. All in all though, the song grows on you and I like it. : )

I think it's a cute song. I think it's a good example of how something innocent can also be preceived as a bit naughty. My family and I go camping in the woods sometimes. Although thankfully I have not picked up any ticks yet, it is a possiblity for people who go out camping and hunting.
It's also a good example of what legnths guys will go to and what excuses they will come up with to get their hands on a girl. ;-)

I like this song. I think it is cute and was written well. I like Brad Paisley but he is one guy I have never seen in concert. However on CMT they are playing 5th gear, a concert of his. I got to hear the song, I'm just a guy and I loved it also.

I do think it is a funny song, but for someone who grew up in the country and has had experiences with ticks, it makes complete sense. It is actually a very cute love song.

Ticks is a cool song. I'll admit I thought it was kind of stupid at first, then it grew on me. I like the beat and the words. Nah, I don't think it's inappropriate, not compared to everything else out there.

I laughed so hard the first time i heard it. It's just classic Brad Paisley...who's pretty much the best in country music these days as he's reigning top male vocalist. But think of it fromg a writers stand point, and how creative it is to write a song like ths. Its funny, its cute and Brad is one of the few guys who can pull it off and still attract the attention of women. Doesn't seem anyone got offended by it, and they requested it on up the charts all the way to number 1 before the CD was even out. Pretty impressive.
