Hello to all. I would humbly like to ask each and every one of you to pray for the people of Greensburg, Kansas. If you have not heard, the town of Greensburg took a major hit from a tornado shortly before 10 pm Friday (5/4/07) night. The majority of the town has damage, with the west side completely leveled. Downtown was hit hard, with complete destruction of businesses, and residential areas. Their schools, fire/police station, and hospital were all severely damaged as well. My sister's brother-in-law lives in Greensburg. He lost everything he owns: his home, clothes, both vehicles - all gone. The thing he does have, is his life. We feel very blessed that the tornado spared his life. Others were not as fortunate. The entire county (Kiowa), where Greensburg is located, has been designated as a national disaster. The only thing I ask of my fellow Lotters, is your prayers. Please pray for the residents of Greensburg. For the families that have lost friends and loved ones. And for the fine folks that lost their lives. Thank you! Hugs.

Thank you TheWuzz for the slides! They are, um... undescribible. I can't even put into words how it makes me feel seeing the horrific destruction. Have you heard that the Greensburg tornado was an F5? Two hundred plus miles per hour winds.... I can't even imagine. By the way, where do you live? I live by Cheney. Hugs.

I will add my prayers. This is a terrible thing to happen. I will pray especially for your sister's brother-in-law, that he can find peace about it.

peavey, I think my sis's BIL will need some time for it to sink in, and for the reality to hit him that he has lost everything, but his life. I can't imagine the shock the town must be feeling. Its so sad.

It has to be so hard. I can't even imagine having your entire life changed that suddenly - most of us can't imagine it. I will continue to pray for him and the others.

Thank you, mjsdls! Your prayers are much appreciated. Yes, God does care or my sis's BIL would not be alive right now. Hugs!

Thank you so much liyan97! This is the "Bible belt" and the faith of the Kansas people is strong indeed. Faith will help the folks of Greensburg heal.
