I found this in a paper called Coffee New's that is distributed in local restaurant's in my area and thought you would like it. Belle, a 17-pound beagle, saved her owner's life when she hit 911 on his cell phone. The dog belong's to Kevin Weaver, who is diabetic. He trained Belle to detect when his blood sugar dropped to low level's. One morning, Kevin mistook Belle's warning bark's for a sign she wanted to go outside. He suffered diabetic shock. Belle bit down on the speed dial botton on the phone that call's 911. the Ocoee, Florida, medic's responded quickly and kevin was saved. Belle wone the VITA Wireless Samaritan Award for her canine action's. I don't know if I would have lasted if Belle hadn't been there," say's Weaver. Now that is one smart beagle there, every one should train their dog's or even their cat to dial 911 in an emergency it would save their life.

i have heard that dogs can detect smells that us humans can't detect that why they make good aide dogs. I have even hear then help a gil who has a genetic condition were she can stop breathing in her sleep, he dog is trained to push a button to turn on a machine to push ai into her lung and stat her breathing if she stop and thus keeping her alive. Dog do amazing things and sometime they do not need to be trained, it is just instinct.

Your right sometime's it is instinct that they do thing's like that. I have heard also that dog's can detect smell's that we can't. I watch a show on the animal channel called Animal Miracle's and one episode they had where a dog was trained to detect cancer in people after it detected cancer on the back of the owner's friend.
