What do you think of school uniforms?

Should they be required? Do they stifle individuality and creativity?

I can see both sides of this issue. On the one hand, they keep kids that can't afford designer clothes, etc. from feeling out of place. On the other hand, everyone looks alike and no one is free to create their own looks.
