Do you believe this should be compulsory in school and if so why ? Do you believe the school has the right to decide if your child is healthy and active enough and be able to enforce a class like this on our children or do you believe that this is a good way to keep our children active and healthy ?

No I dont think it is rite. Kids go to school to learn and not to play games, I can see that it is a good idea for the younger kids but once you get to high school I think you should have the choice to weather or not you want to take physical eduacation or not.

Hello.samtaylorskykierajen,I think physical education should be a compulsory subject in the schools so that they can have healthy body and concentrate in their study better. Just twice a week is enough to maintain their health, I think the children do not mind stretching their bodies during the school hours twice a week.

I hated Ph Ed in high school. Seems I was alway in the class with the really good athlets. They were so much better than me and I dreaded that class. It was and still is mandatory in our state.
As much as I hated it, I think it forced me to learn how to deal with people who were much better at something than I was. I think dealing with various kinds of people is important.
Unfortunately, and this goes against everything that I am feeling inside, I think it is a good idea and it shoudl be mandatory.

Yes, it should be compulsory.
It has been in my state for at least all of my life.

maybe not a graded program but a participation program i think fitness is a good trait to at least mention when children are young.. plus i think it is good to build routine around schools need to let kids run around at certain times of the week or else they get restless. Should it be compulsory?
I don't know if its not compulsory does this mean the kid does not have to be with the class?
Or does it mean they are entitled to another option.. can they just go to a the library or should their be programs for kids who don't want to participate..
I think this can boil to should school be purely academic.. what about theater and music shouldn't these be as compulsory as physical education.. if you allow it why not other supposed substitutes.
I think schools should make a health class compulsory and this may involve physical education or another style promoting well being and health.
