Yes, at 1030pm the house directly behind me (close proximity) is having a HUGE party. Drunk people are hooting and hollering, and hey it might not be late to them, but we have 4 young kids. The music is SO LOUD and they are directly behind our bedroom, so it's extremely loud. I am so irritated, and this is a regular occurance. I just find it rude to be so loud considering how many houses are right by theirs. Does this happen to you ? Would you be irritated?

Until I moved out of the neighbourhood, I lived next door to loud people. They threw a block party one Sunday night. I had to call the police 3 times for anything to be done about it.
Ironically, they seemed to know it was us who called and threatened us the day we moved out.
Sad really.

I am sorry to hear you were threatened. That is ridiculous that they threatened you because of their ignorance and inconsideration of others. I am glad you moved out of that neighborhood! I hope your new home is much more peaceful!

Yes, much more peaceful now. It didn't help that the old neighbourhood was a welfare neighbourhood, and that's why it was so bad, not to mention it was right in the middle of gang territory.
The new place is much better and we're happy we moved.

I think it is very rude...I would call police...they can always show up and check on the party...after 10 pm music should be turned off....
In call police few times long time ago when I used to be in small apartment and people didn't care about others and play music very loud after 11 pm...

Don't you live on a military base? I'm surprised that they allow this with the houses so close together. I would be very mad! Is there someone you can call in the future if this happens to get them to quiet down?
We have only 2 neighbors that we can see (in the country) they are both ok- The ones right across from us yell at each other a lot. We hear loud music a lot from the neighbors we can't see- A young couple recently bought the house- They have 2 kids- and they party all the time! We are far enough away that it is annoying to us and doesn't keep us up- If it did and they did it all the time I'd tell them- If they didn't stop I'd call the police to take care of it!

Yes, I would be irritated. Actually, knowing myself and my red-head temper, I'd likely be irate! As many posters before me have stated, I'd probably call the police if the party goes much later. I know in our town there is a curfew on loud noise.

I WAS irate! I never did call the police, but I think someone else did, they had a fire going outside, and the flames were over 6 feet high, and close to a tree! Later the fire was out but they were still partying, I dont think they would have put out the fire unless they were "directed" to.

This happens in my street, and I have had to call the Police at almost 2am to make it stop. It's so thoughtless and in some cases it can be a major disturbance.

Call the police and ask them to have them quiet down. It is late and kids are trying to sleep and should not be subject to this type of behavior.

Our former neighbours below us were always loud (music loud enough to make the floor tremble), but they really went overboard when they had their farewell party. We actually waited until 2 in the morning (thinking they would calm down at some point, but no, they were still screaming and shouting like animals and the music was still as loud as ever) before phoning the police. They took it really seriously and stopped the party immediately. One of the cops was actually really pissed as he could hear everything clearly outside in the street, he could hardly believe the amount of noise they were making! Thankfully they never figured out it was us who called and they moved away soon afterwards. Our new neighbour is really quiet and friendly so it's a relieve. Our above neighbour is a bit too loud, but at least his parties are much more quiet!

I would say, if you can't beat them, join them. I'm sure they won't notice or mind an extra body at the party. Bring over a few drinks and I'm sure you'll be a welcome guest (especially if you're looking 4cuteboys). :_)

Maybe your living behind a nightclub? lol but kidding aside. they need to be considerate. have you tried talking to them? maybe that's the first thing you need to do. Next is to call the police. If you live in an apartment you can contact your landlord as well. if everything fails try trowing a party in the morning when most of them are sleeping.Be as loud as you can and see what their reactions will be.

I agree with the others; complain to the police. Don't you remember in the Sims (the first), when you're playing music too loud at night, the police come over to your house and warn you to shut it off? Especially if this is a regular occurance, you shouldn't have to be forced to deal with it.

It is indeed irritating. It is annoying and moreover,it is dangerous for your physical as well as psychological health (4 young kids). When civic senses are lost, then we have no option left but to call police for taking steps.
I think, if it is a routine affair, then no point wasting time but call the Cops.

I do have a neighbor kid who plays his music so loudly my wails bounce. we live right next door to him in a mobile home. When is mom is gone thats when it starts. I have tried talking to him, his mom and the land lord. he still does it. He just doesn't care what anyone thinks. Usually when he turns i up I have to go over there and pound on his door. For along tie mind you since he cant hear me pounding. I ask him to please turn his music down which he does. for awhile but then he turns it right back up later. The landlord has threatened to kick them out but so far nothing. I am tired of it. So I know how you feel. What can you do except call the police at night . But during the day you cant do that either.

That must be very irritating. My daughter is only 4, but when she hears loud music and noises. She gets annoyed too.~~lol And not to say sometimes, she gets scared because it's so loud, and from our room, they sounds like wolfes or dogs...~~lol And the worst thing, is that you can say nothing about it. Because you might end up having an arguement with your neighbor. Which would make things worst. So all I do in those kind of situation, is praying hard they get drunk and fall asleep immediately. ~~lol (^^,)
