What is it with men and the remote control???

I don't understand what the big deal is with the remote control. When my husband is home, he insists on being in charge of the remote. I don't understand why he won't share. I get tired of asking him to please turn down the volume or would he please change the channel to see what else is on. Then he gets mad because he has to use the remote for something. I just don't get it.

A friend of mine had the same problem with her husband, she went to radio shack and bought a cheap remote control and set it to the tv so now they both have one and when the volume is too high she just lowers it herself.

i will never understand this myself. I can be in the middle of watching a show or a movie and if my husband comes in to watch tv he just expect me to hand over the controler. i can not stand it!!!

yep once he has it its his. i just also have to deal with haveing to change the channel in the middle of me watching something. I dont get it we have 3 tvs in the house and they want the controler to the one your watching it never fails.

i feel your pain babyboo!!! Now we just need to come up with a way to get them to pick one of the tvs that are free and not the only one that you are watching!!!

i think, i gotta do with them being controlled remotely by women and they want purgation through the small box!! lol..
jokes apart, most men do that. i have noticed that mken are more keen on changing channels than women who generally would prefer to stick to a few ones. for that reason, perhaps, men want to keep the control in their hands.
however, i donot have any problem in this issue. i live with my parents and my father being very sweet would never want to be in charge.

I believe its a man thing,I think there is a little alien in there that makes a man feel like he is in charge of something when he has the tv remote,its really the only thing that he can make do something and it listens right off, see he dosnt get to be in charge of to many things at home so that is his only power a little tiny box that he can boss around. lol

This is so funny. My dad was like this and so was my grandma though. Fortunatly my husband isn't and he will ask me if there is something I want to watch first. Unless it is poker and he will insist on watching poker but thats ok I like it too. I guess I have learned to be very flexible since he works so hard and I am home all day then I let him have the tv time at nite.
