Not the daily living in pain but those people (family/friends) who do not understand that after 30 minutes of walking in a mall, you're plum tucker-out. The most simplist things in live are difficult for us suffers, vaccuming can be murder. And when fibro fog hits hanging onto a conversation is a Great Effort... I have a younger sister who for the first few years thought I was faking the illness for attention, I actually went to a nerve specialist who injected shots into my elbow joints.... I find that No one understands this illness unless they are walking in the same shoes as myself. My daughter has naps and I join her for cat naps as much as possible...Its one of the things that keeps me going:)

Here's the famous Letter to Normals. I've printed it out for my relatives and it has helped. Insist on the original: this is it and accept nothing less! http://notdoneliving.net/foothold/openletter/

I'm on Neurontin for my FM and it has helped a lot. In the meantime, could you bunch up a blanket on your lap to have your little girl sit on so it won't hurt so much? I have cats and I SWEAR they know just where to jump on to set off my trigger points and make me spaz. I hope your flare subsides soon....and you get a pain management doc who will treat your FM!
