So my new hobby lately has been making handmade cards and invitations. I have been doing my friends baby shower invites and they look Great....Well I think they look great. Anyway, I am hoping to maybe get some business out of it. I have been working on getting some other cards done so I can try to sell them on like a flea market website I have to put one up. I know that it is silly but I am finding that it is quite enjoyable to make beautiful things. As I continue with my businesses I really am looking forward to not only have the option to be at home with my kids but to really make some sort of supplemental income, other than my main business. Not that my main business is not Lucrative it will be, but that I feel is only part of what I want to do, I would like to be able to not only live off my income but I want to do good for others too. I am hoping to put together some sort of funding source to help others pay for very expensive pain medication and also for fertility treatment. I just feel that since this is something that has affected my life and currently affects my husbands life that it is something that I can do and have the opportunity to do so I am going to get started here. I am so excited, now that we are finally where we want to be we know where our future is as far as location we are just very much happy at the current point in time.

That is cool, I can understand wanting it to be easy and hassle free. Anyway, I hope you find your niche, I am getting to mine here really soon I can feel it. I have also put some websites up for some people and so far I have made a little bit of money that way too. We will see how things go. Keep up your search. I also am doing my other home based business but that is so slow right now, and I feel sick today so I am taking it easy

Well, it is pretty much a trend here too. I saw many beautiful and creative handmade cards. At the moment, here people like to make 3D cards, it was very nice actually. Last year I've made some order for a candle handmade card for our wedding anniv. This handmade card is unique because I can just put/ slide any picture I want in that card and it is also function as a candle holder when it folded as instruction.
So, I think it's a good and creative hobby. Because lotsa people also looking for something different that is not available in normal shops...so, handmade cards is also include.....who knows....just keep up your good work !!!!

Thanks yes I have gotten some templates for 3D cards and or little party favor boxes, also little paper stuff that would be easy to sell to put gift cards in and the like. I have not put anything together just yet, I am finishing working on my friends baby shower invites (45) and then also did thank you cards for her as well.
we will see how things go, I have tons of ideas but so far I am getting some projects done and also starting to actually make some money with all of them. so it is cool. this is how my friend started with her business, she did many things and then finally found the one item that was the easiet and most profittable for her. So she stopped doing the other stuff and worked on her one item that really hit the roof for her. In one year she made over $100K and she became a big name in our city....As a matter of fact when I was getting married and I told my wedding planner that I knew her very well she was pretty impressed, I mean she was like "You know, SO AND SO? Wow, she is awesome that is so cool"
She is the one that I am building a website for so I am really excited!

I am very much impressed of your plans to market your hobby. I wish you all the best. Will you please explain hand made cards? Do you mean you design cards or you manufacture card using some raw materals? There is a high demand for home nade paper and card, I was told by a friend.
I wish all success in the new venture.

I think there is more demand for handmade PAPER but that is not what I do, I do the designs....and I can personalize them too...whether it be just thank you notes or invitations, I actually prefer doing baby shower or baby announcements but I can do pretty much just about anything. I am going to help with designing and making about 20 graduation announcement cards, and then I hold onto everything I design as my portfolio. I also do website design and hope to get into further web development. I am doing well with that, I got my second project just recently, and I am workign with another WAHMom to get her website up and running, I am building it for her too ....I am hoping to have that be more of a referral based type business.
