I like both cats and dogs but I have just a cat because I think that is more difficult to have a dog as a pet.
Both are cute, both are intelligent and both can be the best friend of a man but there is some differences between them: dogs need more space than cats, they need more food than cats and they need to go out 2-3 times per day and the cats don't need this thing.
I hope that you are satisfied with my answer. :)

Yes, thank you. You also sound like me when it comes to cats. Especially when you go on vacation, cats do not have to be let outside like dogs and if need be, you can get a friend to feed your cat every 2 to 3 days...no biggie!

We have cats because they are easier to take care of for our kids. We wanted to get a pet that our kids could learn to reapect animals and learn a bit of responsibility so we decided that cats would be the best bet.
So far it has proven to be the better choice. They dont make alot of noise and tend to entertain themselves.

I agree with you. I also love cats because they are no maintainence pets. They, well my cat, sleeps at least 19 hours a day, only gets up to stretch and sometimes eat....
Cats are so beautiful too..

I, too, have had cats since I was a little girl. That could be part of the reason why I prefer cats to dogs. I also prefer cats to dogs because, although dogs are cute and sweet, I think cats are cuter and smell better. I find that most dogs have a bad odor to them. Oh, and I don't like it when a dog licks me.

Actually, i have both. I disagree with the smell thing though, pups go outside to the toilet but at least they don't spray on things & don't flick kitty litter all over the place!
I like both animals equally & both have their bad points but at least a dog can be trained to go to the toilet outside, a cat would prefer a little tray & even emptied on a regular basis, cat poop stinks! It's worse when you have a young male that will spray on everything - that's an awful smell - dogs don't do that.
I have 4 cats & 4 dogs - both i love equally & both have good points & bad which are usually different from the others!

It's only an accident that I have cats and not dogs. My sister rescued some kittens and asked me if I wanted them. My cats are now 11 years old and taking them was the best thing I ever did. They are so beautiful and fun and loving, I don't know what I'd do without them.
I love dogs, but there are some advantages to cats, in my opinion. First and formost is that they are so EASY to take care of. I don't have to walk them. They are clean and quiet. I know some cats don't come when you call them, but mine do. I just love em!

I have 2 cats with us right now. And I have never liked cats before since I went here in Bahrain. I know that cats are mysterious, independent and evil (lol)...Before I came here, I have a dog. She's kind, cute, loving and very loyal. I really think tat dogs are opposites of cats. Dogs give their love on their masters sooo mucchhh even to risk their lives. I moved in Bahrain. And having a dog is a big challenge because usually we rent a flat. And having a dog (esp with the barking thing) is not advisable and there's no way that you can send them outside. I was really longing for a pet so we decided to have a cat instead.
Having a cat at first is frightening to me. Like you don't know what they are thinking and she may get angry at you and scratch you. But after few months i fell in love with my cat. They are also cute creatures and loving too though they are really not the showy type of animals.
BUT few days ago, she scratched me on the face for no reason at all. I still believe DOGS are better than cats. BUt i love my cat so much.

I have 1 cat, and i much prefer cats to dogs. There are lots of reasosn for this! Cats are more independant and dont need to be taken for a walk every day. They are also much cleaner animals and don't need to be washed as they do it themselves (unless they get something on their coat), plus they don't slaver everywhere all over you either. I think they are a bit more intelligent and somehow less predictable than dogs, which to me seem to eager to please and a bit dumb at times. I also personally think they look cuter than dogs do. I guess you can safely say i'm a cat person!
