when i was very young every year we went back to the ranch to mark sheep and brand calves. one year, when i was around 6 years old i overheard a couple of the grown ups talking about some of the local old ladies. first they discussed some woman they described as 'a sweet little old lady'. next they discussed addie gage. they described her as quite a character who made the best peach cobbler in the world. ... i decided right then that the term 'sweet little old lady' was not for me. it would be 'quite a character' or nothing! i believe i made it. ... sadly addie was 84 that year and it was her last round up, wish i could make it that long...
now which would you rather be? sweet? or quite a character?

I would like to be a sweet little old lady when I will be 84. But I am sure that I would not like to be a "witch" for example. So anything, but that.
