Helen Keller said, "We could never learn to be brave and patient, if there were only joy in the world" I find this saying very powerful and inspiring and teaches one that if you suffer over anything at all, it is not for nothing.
Please feel welcome to share if you have a favorite that would inspire you?

lol,as i said i was silly...ha ha ha...
My favorite proverb, or statement of sage advice, was attributed to the wisemen of India by Ghandi, "The Truth ever is, the Untruth never was." This is a universal lesson for each of us, most especially those who step forward with intent to lead or teach.

I love Helen Keller's work! I have a favourite saying, it helps me out in hard times and stops me feeling sad sometimes: it's "Don't expect anyone else to give YOU what YOU want out of life". I may have to repeat it sometimes but it puts most things into perspective.

Thanks for your response. Yes, Helen Keller often hit the nail right on the head for me and I do like that one you have quoted there. I see life as a lesson, and things are a great more valuable when earned. The struggle is mean to challenge and strengthen us. _Derek

My favourite saying is if it's not broken don't fix it! So many times in the past I have messed around with stuff to improve them and it's only turned out to make the thing fail to work or I've wasted hours and hours and achieve the square root of bu**er all! I have other sayings too like my enemies enemy is my friend, I hear that a lot on tv.

I have done the same my friend, so many times.
Once my father had an old van that didn't have a heater in. I decided to "improve matters" and took a heater from a scapped car. All I managed to do was cause leaks in the van and my dad, not very pleased had to take it for repair. Never did get warm in winter driving that thing. It was obviously not meant to have one!

My favorite saying is......Things always have a way of working out....I have found that to be very true many times in my life. Just when I think things are bad and wonder how it will all work out, I remember that saying and it helps me to get through.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' (See Matthew 22:36-40)
This is my favourite saying and I try to keep it in my mind though its very difficult. It is difficult to love your neighbour who hoots his horn when you are sleeping or annoys you in some other way. But yes this verse is a challenge for me!

Thank you for sharing again on another of my posts. Yes, as we say in Zen, "Some people make it very difficult!"
If I look at all great teaching, nobody is saying that it is going to easy. In Zen, we say it is the journey rather than the destination that is valuable, for it is the journey that teaches. The destination is just so. _Derek

"Today is the tomorrow, you thought about yesterday. I love this phrase as it uses all three words to describe that days as they go by. When you speak of tomorrow, you in turn speak of today. Utilize your days as they come by because you never know when your last is.
