why some parents should be soo strict????

i have a lot of friends whose parents are very strict... these friends of mine are very good people, they excel in classes and other things but they don't have freedom... they cannot go out without chaperon(or their yayas around), damn!!! we're all in our 20's so i think they should have freedom(like me). they're not even allowed to have bf's at their age.
im just so curios what's really the reason why their parents are like this? where in fact, we just want to go to malls and we're not doing anything wrong...is it because they still dont trust their children? is it really loving their children that's why they're overprotecting them?

i think it's just that they are worried that their children might be in danger. I don't know but with crimes these days, it's really hard to trust. I think that's their view point but I share the same dilemma as you. I'm nearly in the right age but still my parents couldn't allow me to have sleepovers. I'm glad though that my father (not my mother) allowed me to go to beaches and swimming pools with my friends. Last time, they were pretty overprotective.

I understand your problem and your feelings.But what ever your friends parents are doing is also correct.You can't say why?There may be so many reasons.One reason they really care about there kids.It dosent mean that your parents wont.But there are littel bit worried about there kids.This is the age where most of teenagers will select wrong paths and destroy there lifes.May be they are fearing about this.
