Let me start by saying that I like the idea of having a way to send and receive calls between my PC & a phone. I seem to notice that you can make calls to phones for free, but you can no longer receive calls for free.
I tried "Yahoo In;" paying a phone number with yahoo number to use with my messenger. This was hell: first, i had to upgrade to a new ver; then, I couldn't load IE; the messenger kept crashing; etc. Every time I tried to live chat, after 15 mins, the chat window would just freeze. Don't want to try it again.
For a while, something called stana phone would let you receive free calls, but they arent taking new members, and when I had to reinstall everything on my pc, i didnt back that up, and they arent willing to lemme redownload.
I've tried Globe7--lycos phone is under it--but everytime any tries to dial, under a cell or land, we keep getting errors, and support is very slow in answer back; they even said I needed to stay logged in, which of course I'd already mentioned I was.
Does MSN/Google have a "internet phone?" I'm really just concered with receiving the calls, which is why I would like to find a free one. If not, I'd like to hear some good responses about a service?
How has Skype been? I know that you have to pay for an "in number," but if it works well, I would consider it...
