We all take different things in consideration when we buy or move into a new property be it rented or bought. But if your money was tight and you were shown a house to move into which you could afford BUT... There had been a grisly brutal murder in there the year before, or it looked like the house in Amityville and had a rather gruesome history would you move in? It has been named The House of Horrors by locals. All the other houses in the area you want to live in are way too expensive and this is the ONLY house that you can afford Question is Would you move into the house of the devil and if not why not

Ooooh - what a question? I guess it would depend on many factors, but I am stubborn and obstinate enough to say I probably would - just to prove everyone else wrong!!! I firmly believe we make of our life what we will - everything is on our hands - and if you went into a house like that with a positive attitude, and redecorated it completely to make it light and bright and airy, then it would be fine:-)) Evil does not live in bricks and mortar in my opinion,- only in human beings - so if you give that house love, then it will love you back, and whatever "ghosts" will soon be exorcised!!

The thought of it is actually creepy. But the thing is I'm a coward when it comes to those stuff and I'd rather not risk me or my family into moving to a horror house. I'd rather rent a small room or better yet live with my relatives. hehe What if I ask you? Would live in a horror house?

Well seeing as I love watching horror films, I can hardly say no lol! What better to watch a horror film than in a house of horrors! Thanks for your response.

I think I would pal yes. I think a house is what you make it and if there is plenty of love in it then the ghosties won't want to come in lol , I am glad I don't have to make my mind up right this minute though lol , as If it were real and I am honest then I might have to think about it , OMG I must have a split personality , I think I have given you 2 different answers now , I hope I am not being taken over here lol xx

No, not moving into an evil house. That's just that. Why not rent? I'd rather just rent until I can afford soemthing I actauly like. THere's no body forcing you into a house.

it never said the house was evil. it said a house where a murder happened. which is surely the fault of the murderer, not the house.

your questions was "would you move in to the house of the ...?" which implies it's an evil house, no?

Well honey quite a few years ago when I had just become a single parent and moved back to Scotland, was on the waiting list for a council house. I was offered the house of Thomas Hamilton ( the infamous Dunblane School gunman) - they offered to rip out bathroom and kitchen and refit it all with high quality fittings, redecorate and carpet the whole place but I couldn't live there knowing that such a twisted and evil person had live and plotted the murder of innocent children there! This is only my opinion and I would not expect everyone to feel the same but I waited as I could not bear to make that kind of compromise! xxx

I think in the circumstance no one would or could live in that house, thanks my friend. That is so macabre and you are right, it wouldn't matter if they ripped the whole place to shreds and rebuilt it, the memories would still be there x

i would rather not live in that area or buy a house even if that house is the only one left.. it might cause me not my life or my mom's or family's life.. not of the "scary" look of the house or the spirits but of rather nervous breakdown.. having a heart attack is the no. 1 killer nowadays. so i wouldn't risk it anyway.

No, I couldn't do that, I would rather stay in an overpriced apartment or house than stay in anything haunted, I have terrible fears and a vivid imagination one can only imagine what my thoughts were to be if I was faced with living in such a place.

I don't really think it would worry me too much .. I read horror stories late at night all on my own for fun .. so the real thing would be more likely to interest me than scare me .. In fact .. unknown to me I lived in a house that had been an undertakers for years prior to becoming flats .. my bedroom was the 'laying out' room ... all this only came to light when one of the other residents was doing some research on the building to try and buy it ... He came and told me I was sleeping in an undertakers embalming studio hehehe ... have to say I always slept very well in that house .. Getting back to your question .. yes I would buy the house .. but I would definitely ask for a big reduction in the price due to the 'grisly' history of the place .. hopefully the sellers would just be glad to get rid of it and agree my price ..

In fact .. thinking about this again I remembered the 'old lady' who 'lived' in one of the houses we rented when I was married .. it was when the boys were toddlers .. I was in the kitchen and I could hear them talking to someone but not hear anyone replying .. so I popped into the lounge to see what was going on and both boys and both dogs were facing a corner of the room .. the lads were babbling on and the dogs were just sat there .. hackles raised and giving very low huffing growls ... I asked the boys to come away and both boys said goodbye to the 'old lady' .. seems they'd 'seen' here quite a few times .. she just came and sat in the corner of the room to watch them play .. after that we just carried on as if she were real .. I made sure the corner was kept clear for her and always said good morning and good night to her .. Blimey .. I had forgotten all about that until your discussion made me think about it .. that was 34 years ago hehehehe

Lordy merci, My hubby and I bought a house and didn't know the father murdered his family. When we first moved in things started to be weired, we would be hearing someone walking on the step going up or down the stairs, hear small whispers seeing some shadows gosh we found out more about the house from our nieghbors so we went to the library to look it up sure enough it was real things got so bad so we moved. We stayed inthat house about 7 years. Now the house is still standing and has been remodled and still empty.

Nope, i would not . I would rather live on the street than have to worry about ghosts. I have always been afraid of ghosts. just the thought of them scares me. If i knew or had a feeling there might be ghosts living there. I would wait. because i know in my heart that my house will come to me eventually A house full of ghosts is not my house. Of course if i had a wolf to protect me i might consider it *grin* xx

It wouldn't bother me if the house had a bad history, it would probaly make it more interesting to live there, as long as it was a house I liked I'd live there. Although the cats would have to approve it as well, as they might sense some things that I can't!!

I rented a room totally unknowing that there had been a triple murder there a year or two before. A disgruntled boyfriend had come into the home, and murdered the girlfriend, her mother, and her brother. The people I was share renting with (it was a gorgeous house in a good neighbourhood, just a wrong place, wrong person event) never said boo about what had happened. I remember moving in and my sister was the one who figured it out, as she lived in the town and I was moving in from another area. The place was prisitine, too, all new carpets, paint, draperies, and she was stage whispering, "I bet it was because of all the blood!" I only ended up staying a couple of nights because the people I was subletting from were fine with me having pets, but the owners didn't want me to have a dog in their house of horrors.
