like everyone else, i often talk and sing to my cat.when i'm out of town,i will sometimes ask my husband to put the phone to his ear so he can hear my voice.i'm not sure which is more crazy, me asking my husband to put on the phone,or my husband standing there holding the phone so our cat can hear me.my husband said that the cat purrs and rubs all over the phone everytime i called.i have no idea if he actually knows it is me on the phone or not but i like to think he does :))

I agree. I think the cat knows you call and appreciates it. He probably misses you!

Of course the cat knows it's you! And he probably appreciates the thoughtful call!

thanks for your comment!it's very different with my sister's cat,the cat never react to anyone else's voice on the telephone. i guess every cat has their own personality :))

I went to Melbourne for a little over a week & we hadn't long gotten a young cockatoo - he was my baby, he groomed my hair, he sat on my shoulder & rubbed against me & all the usual loving things. He went a little funny while i was away so my partner used to hold to home to his ear & i would talk to him. When he'd hear my voice over the phone - he's say what i'd taught him, which was 'Hello Baby'! It was so darn cute. I know he missed me coz he was all over me like a rash when i got back! It might sound a little odd, just like you with your cat but it helped him to calm down while i was away!

I do the same thing all the time. I will call home and talk to the cat and I will call my parent's to talk to some of the dogs. I drive everyone nuts with it and of course the animals know it's me on the phone. When I called one time right after my dog had puppies my mom said she wouldn't lay down and nurse them. This was only about a week after the puppies were born so I told mom to put me on speakerphone. She did and then I got on there and told Sasha that her Sissy said to go lay down and feed the babies. My mom gets back on there laughing because she went in there and started nursing. I was like, "duh, she wanted to talk to her sissy." I love hearing how my pets act when I talk to them on the phone, it's a trip.

what a smart dog you have !!my husband tried to scare me, he said they're respond to our voices purely because they heard some noisy "thing" has been placed near their ear. but i believe they're really recognize us :)) thanks for your comment!

maybe the cat recognizes your voice! :) Talking to our pets does great things for both. our pets may noy understand our language but they know that we love them when we talk to them! :)
