Female teachers can tackle kids easily? Agree or not! How they do so?

It is a question to all and even I will also analyse my own thought. I have recently learnt that kids can very easily be tackled by female teachers. Surely certain factors are there.
What is your opinion regarding the subject? Do you agree that kids tend to listen more to female teachers than male teachers! How female teachers can make it all so easy! Is it due to the fact that they have inherit motherly nature even if they are single?

I suppose it varies. A great teacher is a great teacher whether they are male of female. I'm shooting in the dark here, but I would guess that young children would relate better to a female teacher than a male teacher.

Not necessarily. I think male teachers can also relate to young children. I teach high school but I have a friend who has taught kindergarten and is now teaching first grade. He enjoys teaching the younger elementary students and they seem to like him since he has been teaching there now for 6 years.

I am sorry to disagree on this subject.
All my life I have, indeed, listened to the female teachers more than the male teachers. But that is because I realized from my early childhood that female teachers are more vendictive and less reasonable to discuss the problems. They just don't care weather they are right or wrong. You either do what they say or they'll remember you and smite you on the first occasion they have.
Of course, I don't want to generalize, or to say only women teachers act this way (this seems to be a very widespread behavior of teachers), but, from my own experience of 19 years in the Romanian educational system, I must say that I found male teachers to be more reasonable and able to argument their opinion.

Interesting point. You would think that kids would listen to the male teachers before the females. I don't know if it is motherly nature or the fact that kids might be disciplined at home more often by their mothers rather than their fathers. There is probably a clinical study somewhere on this.

Yes, I agree but I cant give any solid reason just want to say that maybe their way of teaching and talking with kids are much more frank and friendly then male teachers and kids or students do get attratced more and sooner to female teachers as compared to male.

I think it completely depends on the teacher, but since teachers are still predominantly female, it might be a hard thing to prove.
I do believe that females may be more likely to have a "mothering" instinct when it comes to children in their class. Maybe it is intuitive? But, I have definitely had female teachers that didn't seem to have this quality at all.
But, I think that male teachers could have this same affect on some students. Some children out there are desperate for or lacking a male role-model in life and a male teacher or coach could help in that respect.

Well, nice to see your response. Yes, it depends upon the teacher either male or female having qualities and the skill to deal with. Sometimes with loving behavior or invloving in some interesting topic other than the syllabus or likewise. Thanks for response.

I have been teaching high school students for 25 years and I have not had trouble with controlling them. I think that it is a matter of respect. If you respect them in how you treat them they will respect you. I always try to remember I would like to be treated and then I try to treat them in that manner. It has worked for me for 25 years.

Actually I am a teacher and I think it depends on the level. For the younger children I think that female teachers seem to be able to deal with them better. However, when you are dealing with teenagers, I would say that the men find it easier - particularly with the more difficult boys.

I think you are right Ali! But it also depends upon the age group of children. Kids of Play Group or kinder gartne would more need a motherly behavir than the elder ones. So if elders are taught by the male teachers, it would really be more effective as to descipline them. I guess so. ;)

Several years ago, I probably would have agreed with this...but now I do not...I completely believe that a man can be as nuturing as a woman...and that some women are just not nuturing at all......There are many very good male and female teachers who just seem to be able to reach our children better than others...maybe it is their level of committment to the kids education...maybe it is their personality...I am not sure about that part....but I think that it is dependant upon the teacher and not their gender that is the deciding factor here.

I think it's true that female teachers can cope with kids more easily. One of the reasons they are more patient and tender when communicate with kids. Their voices should sound more sweet which is important to the ear of the kids too.

Good question and not one that can be easily answered. On the whole I would say that female teachers are more approaching, probably due to their motherly instinct (whether or not they are actually a mum doesn't seem to figure into the equation). However, it depends what you're looking for in a teacher. My son, aged 9, is a real handful at home and I find that at school he responds very well to male teachers who are more of disciplinarians.
On the other hand my angelic daughter, also aged 9, responds better to a female teacher.
I think male teachers tend to make commands and females teachers tend to approach matters more from a psychological standpoint.

I dont think female teachers can handle more students than male teachers..it varies i guess since it depends on the attitude on the teachers itself towards their respective students, teachers can be compared to parents where in some are not good as being one likewise with the teacher.

Hi, yes well I believe that female teachers can tackle kids more easily than the men as I believe that woman have more patients than men, and I believe that the children would listen more to a female teacher than a male teacher, due to girls prefer females and a lot of boys think that they are in love with their school teacher.

i think it's true.. because i respect female teacher more than male lecturer.. i mean when i was young.. i think it's probably because female teacher represent our mother at school? and we tend to listen to our mother more? i think most kids are more close to mother at the age of 3 - 7 .. right? and.. female has this ability to control kids.. i don't know why too. maybe it's because some of the teachers are already a mother and they do know how to talk to the kids in a proper way.. while i think most of the male teachers are just bachelor. .and they have no idea on kids..they just want to teach..erm.. that's what i think..

Usually, people belive femal teachers can tackle kids easily, so most of teachers in kindergarden and primary are femal. Maybe female are born with some character more easily get along with. But there is a problem that, some boys like to have male teachers. So, I suggest more and more males should be hired by schools. In this way, children can feel and receive both kind of characters.

Yes female teachers can look better after children. IN kids school there are only female teachers. No male one. Reasom is obvious.
