I haven't done any face-to-face gallery events yet, but it's on my list of things I plan to accomplish one day. My problem is I work on things in a very random way, then sell it off . . . so I don't really have a collection I could show. I need to fix this. I have a selection of pictures I keep online on various sites, though, so people can have the opportunity to see work in progress, finished work and work I've sold in the past. It's an interesting experience and one I hope will turn income-producing one day.

What sites do you use? I am working on a series of 12 oil paintings. They are portraits to exhibit and hopefully get commissions. I want to do watercolor to sell online. I am still just finding my way.

I use livejournal.com communities, myspace.com, myartprofile.com, a personal web site and sometimes the forum at nervousness.org. I want to sell online, too, and it's very difficult - the sites I've tried making work are ebay.com and etsy.com. I've experienced some success at ebay, but the pieces sell for way less than what I want them to go for. Nothing has sold on etsy so far, but I'm not really sure why.

Congrats on your first show! That is so Great. I have not done any shows / galleries in years. I do sale online some of my handmade items at www.TammysTreasures.Etsy.com. I don't know if you have heard of Etsy, but there are many people that have shops that only site art work. My shop has a little of everything. In my sold list, I have sold some ACEOs drawings. There are other site out there to sell art work too. I like this site because the fees are very low and you can only sell items that you have make. Best of Luck in your future shows!

I have heard of Esty. I thought it was awesome, but have not tried to take advantage of it. Maybe I should. I did sell some ACEO's on e-bay. I woul like to do more of that. I get busy, but I really want to do art. I will look you up. I used to do arts and craft shows, I sold quilted wallhangings. I used to get so annoyed with resale of items from overseas. It wasn't fair. Glad there is no resale on Esty.

Let me know if you ever decide to take advantage of Etsy.com and open a shop. I can help you promote your shop and some helpful advise. I've been on Etsy since October 2006.

I show from time to time, mostly in juried competitions. I should try to get my work out there more. I mostly sell things online, but it's hard to sell the bigger things because the cost of shipping is so high.
I've been rejected by shows before, even shows that I have exhibited work in the past. It happens to everyone, even professionals that have been doing it for years.
